Firstly is that even a word LOL well it is now ! Hello all ! Caits here blogging for Liz today :D
My very first blog post since joining her team so im super excited but nervy aswell as to how it will turn out!! hope its okay for you guys :)
Today Im gonna ramble on about Clustering and try and give you some tips and shadow tips. This is just my opinion rememember and no way do i claim to do it right(lol) or even well but its how i do it so there haha!
Moving on..
When I start a Layout I usually have a look at elements and figure out what im gonna use and then choose a paper as background to compliment what i think ill use.I usually start with a few paper strips horizontally across the front ,I use papers for this and just crop them to a rectangle.I sometimes use about 4 or 5 and just overlap and move around til it looks right.
.

Then i choose my Photo.I try and use one with almost similiar
colours to the kit im using. This one i choose seemed to fit the subject matter (pearfect :D) If theres frames in the kit then ill usually use them aswell.

Once ive added the photo behind some of the paper strips then its time for elements!
My way of clustering = this...use anything you can and want to .add it all in till it looks good!not
even joking lol thats what i do.Ill add buttons first sometimes and place them behind
the paper strips and some in front...some overlapping the photo and some behind..i duplicate the buttons at most 3 times cause i dont want too many of the same thing on the page.i usually leave ribbons to the end so there on the top of everything.try rotating things and making them smaller
and bigger just go with what you think looks good.

This is my shadow setting for all my elements close to the background paper, like the paper strips and the photo and the flat sorta of elements.
Blend Mode -Linear Burn
Opacity-50
Angle - -44
Distance - 9
Spread - 0
Size - 16

These are my settings for the next set of things..Hearts 3d objects...everything that isnt a buttons or paper basically.
Blend Mode-Linear Burn
Opacity - 44
Angle - -44 untick global ink
Distance - 20
Spread - 0
Size - 27

These are my settings for all things ribbony. The things that i want to look like there almost off the page..Like its a hybrid page or something..a little but more real.
Blend mode-Linear Burn
Opacity - 44%
Angle - -44 untick global light
Distance - 60
Spread - 0
Size - 100

Now i wanted the ribbon on my page to look more 3d than it did so after ive added a drop shadow to my ribbon i make the shadow on its own layer.I do this by right clicking on the effects under the layer ..(where it says what effects you have on the element) and i click create layer. The shadow will now have its own layer. Then i select the shadow layer and i use ps shortcut and i press cntrl + T and go to WARP.

Once youve done that youll get a box like in the photo below..I usually warp the corner like so until the shadow is how i like it.I dont always do it the same so experiment and try until you get it looking the way you want it.play about with the warp tool.its a fun one trust me!!

And there you go.Heres my final page.I hope you managed to follow me and i hope it made sense and i hope you like my page :D
Thanks!
For this page I used the Special Kit
Avaliable at Scraporchard last day today!!
