Life with Liz - Exciting News!

Okay, first of all, what do you think of my new blog look & logo? I like to change things up every once in awhile and I thought it was time for a new look. I tried to make the blog a little easier to navigate. My new favorite feature is that you can just click on tutorials and it will take you to a list of my tutorials, that way you don't have to scroll through all the pages. So I hope you like it since it'll be around for awhile. I did it all on my own, with a tiny bit of help from my husband. I only had to ask him for help with one thing! Yippee, I'm learning!

On to the REALLY exciting news. If you follow me on facebook then you probably have already have an idea of what it is.

Yup, I'm going to Vegas for Scrap Orchard's Digi Convention!!!! I'll even be teaching a class or two!!!! I'm really am hoping to meet some of you all there.

Here are some things you also might want to know:

1. If you are one of the first 50 people to register you'll be entered to win an iPod touch!
2. They are also going to be giving away an iPad to one lucky winner at the convention!

You can go to the Convention info forum here to get your registration packet and any other info you need.

I literally just got off the phone making my registration!

I'll be honest......I've never had the desire to go to Vegas.....until NOW! I've never flown in a big airplane (just the small 2 seater my dad use to fly) and I've never been to Vegas! So this should be quite the adventure for me. I'm also bringing my husband along and leaving the kids at home with grandma. I'm looking forward to meeting some of my digi friends & having a weekend away with my hubby.

Here's where I need your help. First off I need you to go register so I can see you there (LOL)! Then I need some help deciding what my hubby and I should do on the extra day that we'll have all to ourselves, now keep in mind we don't gamble or drink, so what should we do? I've looked into going to the Grand Canyon (which I would LOVE to see) but I'm thinking it might be kind of far. Any suggestions would be helpful.

Thanks and looking forward to seeing you there!

I am SO excited for everyone who gets to attend this fabulous event! As much as I would absolutely love to be there myself, financially I just can't swing it (without dropping out of grad school, anyway, haha). I have been to Vegas before and I want to assure you that you will LOVE it. I was there over ten years ago, so a lot has changed, but I can give you a few suggestions. As I am sure you know, there are a ton of sights to see and they are not all gambling/drinking related (in fact, none of my trip consisted of either). I definitely recommend visiting the M&M factory and Coca Cola factory, those were two of my favorite stops on my trip. I also enjoyed Excalibur and New York New York. I know you are leaving the kids home, but if you feel like having a fun amusement park day for yourself, stop by Circus Circus, and indoor themepark. Also, stop by the the Luxor...they have some pretty cool IMAX shows and such. Umm...what else? I'm not really sure. I remember walking the strip for probably eight hours just trying to see everything--we didn't go back to where we were staying until around 2am! So if you have spare time, just walk around and I guarantee you'll find things to do and see. Oh, and I did not see the Grand Canyon while I was there, but I did see the Hoover Dam. What I didn't know when I was there was that you can actually tour the dam, instead of just staring at it from up top. Anyway, hope this helps && that you have a fabulous time planning your trip!
