Fancy Script. Sometimes, you just want to convey a very pretty or formal mood. Or, sometimes you want to purposefully make your font hard to read so that you can include personal journaling without others being able to read it on the web! Here are a couple examples:

Check out the Script category at dafont for some great choices.
Typewriter Fonts. This is one of my favorite types of font! I love the old-fashioned feel. I've never used a typewriter, but that distinctive look reminds me "recording" events and happenings.

My favorite fonts in this category include Traveling Typewriter (a good basic typewriter font-- my first choice), Problem Secretary (for a "messy" look), Adler (for a "bold" look)
And finally, here's a look at some layouts that use fonts in interesting and creative ways, or have used a really unique font.

So in conclusion, don't be afraid to try out lots of fonts before you decide on one. For example, try switching a journaling font with a typewriter sometime, and I think you will notice a distinct change in the mood of your layout!
Oh--and if you ever see a font you like that isn't credited (I know a lot of us, myself included, often forget to add font credits), send a Private Message to the layout artist, and she will hopefully get back to you! I know that I never mind when someone asks me, and I find it a compliment that something about my layout spoke to them enough that they wanted to know more about it.
Happy scrapping!

Lynn love your font posts. Was sitting here reading when Wow, saw my layout from the advent layout. As you can see I do love fonts! If anyone wants to know about any of the fonts I used just let me know. Thanks for the great articles and for some great new font ideas!
Just a quick note to let you know that a link to this post will be placed on CraftCrave today [01 Feb 12:00am GMT]. Thanks, Maria
