Life with Liz - A Challenge for You!

Thank you all so much for your comments last week. I'll be working on some new tutorial videos soon but this week I have a little challenge for you.

I made a template a while ago with the Super Bowl in mind. I'm not a huge football fan but family is and I grew up watching it ALL the time. I watch it occasionally now but I don't really care if I miss it. With that said, my family are HUGE Green Bay Packers fans. For instance, my brother is so into it that he won't even come to a Super Bowl party this year because he has to stay home and focus on the game! So I will most definitely be watching the Super Bowl (obviously without my brother) this Sunday just to see if the Packers win!

Anyway, when I made this template I was thinking of one team vs. another team or one thing vs. another thing and which side might win. Well, as I sat staring at this template I was trying to think of a way I could use the template (because I really wanted to use it) and a recent discussion in the Scrap Orchard forum got me to thinking about my own scrapping style. We were asked to look at our galleries to see what our layouts said about our scrapping style. Well, I'm a pretty simple scrapper. I occasionally will try patterns and clustering but I just seem to have a hard time with it....I'm more of a "less is more" type person....BUT I look at some of these gorgeous layouts with the clustering and patterns and I SO want to be able to do that. So that is what my page is about below. Simple vs. Patterns & Clustering, which one will win? In my case I think I will almost always choose simple but I must admit that all those flowers and elements on that right side look pretty fabulous!
Using the Collab Grab Bag from Flergs, Ziggle, SuzyQ & Lauara Banasiak
My Journaling:
Left Side: Simple, Clean, Neat. That's who I am. It's what I like.
Right Side: But sometimes I want to go a little crazy.....and try some patterns and try some clustering.

So here's my challenge for you. Use this FREE template below and choose 2 things that you have a hard time choosing between or that you have a hard time with....it can be fun, silly, serious, etc... Link me up to your layout in the comments below to show us your layouts. Everyone who leaves a comment with a link to their layout will have a chance to win $5 to my store. PLUS if you leave a comment and tell me what your scrapping "style" is (maybe go look at your gallery to get a good idea of what it is) you'll have a chance to win my new releases too this week (valued at $10! - See a Sneak Peek below). I'll be announcing the winner on my facebook fanpage tomorrow night at midnight and then for the layout challenge I'll give you a week and announce the winner next Tues. on my facebook fanpage. Have fun with it!

Here's a sneak peek of what's to come on Thurs. I'm soooo super excited about these. These basically came out of a personal project that I'm working on and I thought you might like the temps too. I'll be sharing my project here on my blog on Friday if you want to hear more about it. You can see some of my finished pages in the sneak peek.....can you guess what it might be?

Thank you for the template! Very unique. If I look at my recent LO's it seems that I'm starting to scrap a lot simpler, but normally I'm all for clutter!

Thanks for the great template...Gotta think of what to do! I've been told and I do have to agree that I'm a more clean and simple style. Clustering does not come easy for me. I need a template for it!!

Can't wait to use the layout template - I'm a big football fan! I have a clean style with a little quirk here and there...LOL!

I'm not sure what type of scrapper I am...I can and do like just about everything. I don't like to take away from the photo and I do love to journal and tell the story behind the photo! Multiple photo layouts are one of my favorites.

Since I'm new to digi scraping I'm still pretty simple when it comes to my layouts. I guess it is a carry over from paper scrapping. Every now and then I also wish I could make nice clusters. Maybe in due time.

What a fun idea for a template! Thanks! :)

I think I am a simple scrapper in general. However, some of my favorite layouts are ones where I've gone outside my comfort zone and added more clustering.

Thanks for the fun template! I think my style would be clean & simple. I tend to do mostly blocked layouts without a lot of elements. Thanks for the chance! ~Dolores

Awesome template, I'm definitely going to be playing this challenge, I already know exactly what to scrap!

My style is really clustery (don't think that's even a word,lol)... I love clustering and I LOVE layering papers!! I have a few less is more type lo's but a huge majority of my pages are more well "busy" LOL.

Sneak peek looks awesome looks like maybe a recipe book...

thanks for the chance and I'll be posting a link to my ? Vs. ? layout soon! ;)

Hi Liz,

Thanks for your thoughts about your own personal style. I love the clustering and am trying to learn, but I tend to go simpler as well. Your admission that you "like" simpler frees me up to not feel bad about my pages just because they don't have this great design work on them. I do love your templates because they are simple yet different. I like a little pop some where on the page which you almost always have on your templates. Thanks for sharing and thanks for your freebies.

Love your template. Very clean and simple. It tells the story without unnecessry clutter.
My style is real-life, my elements and embelishment always pertain to the story I'm telling. Using bows and flowers is a challene for me.

I tend to be cleaner as well. I'm so OCD when it comes to that kind of stuff that I just can't be random. I need things orderly. Probably why I LOVE papers. I have a paper weakness and often buy a kit based soley on that. Sometimes I just stare at the elements thinking, "where the heck do I put this witout it looking weird?" LOL! Oh well. Here's my contribution.

Thanks for the template! I scrap more simply and with multiple pictures usually. Probably because I never feel I have enough time and I'd rather get them done! Here's a link to my LO: http://scraporchard.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=88811&title=jackson-vs-colonel-copy&cat=500
I know we were supposed to think about ourselves for the challenge, but I couldn't help myself. I'm constantly playing referee between these two!! I'm also new to templates and this was easy to do.
