As I started making the templates and making my pages I was wondering what sizes to make and how exactly I was going to make my book. So I thought it would be nice to have 8.5x11 to print on my home computer and then maybe an 8x8 size to print into a photo book.
Here's my plan: I'm going to try and be diligent and take pics of me and the girls cooking food and then make 8.5x11 pages with the recipes we make throughout the year, print them out on my home computer as I get them done and slide them into my recipe book. PLUS (this is my favorite part!) for every 8.5x11 page that I make I'm also going to make an 8x8 page (this will be pretty simple because I can just duplicate the photos, papers & elements onto my 8x8 templates and rearrange as needed). Then at the end of the year I'm going to get 3 photo books printed up (1 for each of my girls) and save them for the girls for when they are older and move out of the house so they can enjoy making recipes and see photos of us baking together (okay, enough talk about that, I think I might cry just thinking about it!)
Here are some photos of my 8.5x11 book so far. You can see my pages and then I just slide them into a stylish 3 ring binder. I got a pretty one from Target (I heart Target!).
I used the kit Freshly Baked from SuzyQ and Captivated Visions, the metal brackets were from Ziggle Designs (I don't think the kit is available anymore) and the Alpha in my 8.5x11 book is from SuzyQ's Laugh the Rainbow {Chocolate}.

Here are my finished 8x8 pages so far. I used a little bit simpler style for these....I guess I just thought it might look better printed in a photo book if it was simpler....but either way would look fine.
Here are my finished 8.5x11 pages. (Just click on the photo if you want to see more detail.)
