Life with Liz - Digital Home Project (Sneak Peek & Chance to Win!)

Hello everyone! Today I have a little house project to show you. I like to change things up in my home every once in awhile and I don't have time to do anything major & I don't really need to spend the $$$ on anything expensive....so I like to do little things around the house to make it have a "new" feeling. Plus I always like to incorporate something from the digital scrapbooking world into my home projects. Digital is right at my finger tips after all and plus I look at decorating my home almost like scrapbooking. I'm creating a home of memories for my children.

This project was super easy and very inexpensive, especially since I already had the 2 smaller frames & the round mirrors. I purchased a big, empty frame from Michaels (at 40% off), had my handy-dandy husband nail wire to the back of it and then hung it on the wall. Then I used small binder clips to hang pictures from it. As you can see in the pic, it's still a little empty. Actually, to be totally honest with you it has been empty for a couple weeks and I just found a couple photos real quick to hang from it so I could take this pic! I figure as I come across different things that I might like us to look at every day I'll clip them up there and it will be super easy to change out. I hung the 2 round mirrors on either side and then I used some digi-paper and digital elements from Everyday You by DeCrow Designs to make an 8x10 picture to put in my frames. I used Persnickety Prints to print them out. I could have printed them on my home computer but it hasn't been working that well and I knew if I used Persnickety they would turn out well. Plus I had to get a whole bunch of other stuff printed so it wasn't a big deal. I usually don't like waiting on projects like this. I just like to get them done....but it was worth the wait. I only had to wait a few days anyway. Then I just hung up my frames and I'm good to go.

My little 3 year old had to sneak into my photo taking session....it's okay though, because she's too cute!

Now on to the sneak peek and giveaway part of my Tues. post. Last week Rebecca was the lucky winner of the Template Grab Bag by me and Nanie's Designs, which is still available for a few more days. 40 templates for $6...you don't want to miss that! Each of my parts will be available individually starting on Thursday.

But I also have a new set of templates that will be available and you do NOT want to miss this giveaway. Okay, so I might say that every week but I must say that the new templates I have coming out this week are one of my favorites!!!! It might be that I sort of teamed up with Kat and Julie and made a set of templates that coordinate with a new kit that they have releasing this weekend. They will be sold separately BUT the kit is really cute and would work well with these temps. So if you want a chance at these temps just leave a comment here letting me know if you've ever done any "digital home projects." Plus be sure to be signed up for my newsletter because this week I will have a little freebie for you...something that coordinates a little bit with the temps! I'll let everyone know the winner tomorrow night here in the comments on my blog page and also on my facebook page. Have a happy Tuesday!

I love this idea Liz! I've never tried a home project but I'm thinking about taking the plunge. Our fridge is always overloaded with my little ones art work - what you've done here would be an awesome way of displaying it!! Thanks for the idea!!

Liz, love the idea of being able to change around the decoration. We have been living in our house for almost 10 years now and we don't have anything, not one single thing on the wall ! Probably because I can't decide what I like the most. Late last year, I found a cool system at Ikea : a ledge on which you can put different frames and other small decorative things. This allows to change things around as well (the pictures, the direction, etc). I can't wait until we find time to measure up and get it from the store.

Great peek again. Can't wait to see it in full.

Super cute idea. Sorry to say that I'm full of ideas for hybrid digital projects but haven't actually done any yet. Sigh.

I print out a lot of photos to mat and frame for the walls in our house and this past Christmas I printed out a Christmas layout of my son and hung it up the Christmas decorations.

I have designed 4x6 calendar pages and slid them into clear acrylic frames with a magnet on the back of them to stick on my refrigerator....It's a handy little calendar and a cute magnet to hold important notes, etc. on your refrigerator....Thank you for the chance to win your newest templates....

I've never done a digital home project, beyond digitally matting photos with scrapbooking papers and decorating them with elements. They turned out really well and your post has inspired me to do some more!

What a cute idea. I did something similar with twine and painted wood shapes for my kids to hang their pictures up in their rooms, but I think I need to try this in my family room.

I never have done any digital home decoration, but I really loved the silhouettes you did of your daughters a while back. If I ever did a project, I think I would try that one.

I have a couple of printables on my to do list- I didn't make them myself, I am just going to print them out and put them in frames. (the frames are hanging on the wall empty currently- so I'm excited to have something to fill them with)
