Template Twist: Facebook Timelines!

Hi Everyone! This is Jenn, aka jk703, stopping by today! I'm thrilled to be starting a monthly post for Liz, showing off some fun tips, ideas, techniques, and maybe a random recipe! :) All in all, I'll be posting once a month right now, so if you have any tutorials or technique suggestions, please let me know!

Today, I'm going to talk about templates! lol! Here are some of Liz's templates., Mix It Up 6!
Mix It Up Templates 6

Now, when most people create a Facebook Timeline, they limit themselves. There is no need to limit how you create the timeline. You can use any template set out there, and just tweak it to work with the area. You can crop a section or even twist or tilt til you find a section that works for you!

Here is a timeline that I created in November with this set:

Can you tell which template I used? The top right corner ones, I just left off most of the bottom and followed the template for the top portion! Simple, and easy! For this timeline, I used multiple BYOC from November, click on the timeline, and you can see all the items listed!

Another fun way to use templates for Facebook timelines is to use the Cut Outs that Liz creates. Here are some that she did for New Years:

New Year Cut Outs

I found the perfect one in there for this timeline cover in January:
I have an addiction to BYOC, so this one uses oodles of the January BYOC at TLP! Just click on the image and it will take you to all the products and styles used!

There you go, two easy ways to update your Facebook timeline and wow your friends and family! I'm glad you visited and hope to see you again soon!

Don't forget to let me know if there's something special you would like to see on the SWL Blog!

Thanks!

New 2018 Project Templates!

As the month comes to a close, Liz has new project templates to help us keep our albums going smoothly. There is the new Everyday Templates line, which make a pocket-style album for the year with about 9-12 photos in each spread. The Planner Templates have calendar grids where you can add pics and notes for the month. And there is a brand new monthly review template in a playful style. I think this newest line will be really fun. Look for a new double page review each month. These new products are 20% off through Sunday January 28, 2018.

A few inspirational pages for you! These first ones are using Everyday Life Templates 2.

This week was different. It started off normal and then we got snowed in for a couple of days and all of our normal activities got cancelled. It was actually quite nice, besides the two sick kids. There were lots of snuggles, games, reading, baking, etc. And somehow there are 3 pictures of me on this week's page. I'm not usually one for selfies or group selfies, but this week it just happened. I guess snuggles make me do it.

New State Series - Arizona, New York, North Carolina, Wisconsin

Liz is responding to customer requests and designing a new series of State Cut Outs. These have the state names, abbreviations, and shapes in several different styles. I love the state outlines with the playful hand lettering filling the shapes. They are so cute! These are great for scrapping your home town, the places you've lived, or your travels. Liz will be releasing a few new sets each month. These first four are 20% off through January 21.

January MIS Challenge, Instructions and Inspiration

Last week (the first Saturday night of the month) Tracy hosted an MIS (Make it Snappy) over at TLP like she does on the first of every Saturday night. These are so much fun. They help you scrap a page quickly, they help you think outside of the box and they can be inspirational.

Even though the MIS is over I like posting the instructions here along with some inspiration in case anyone wants to practice or just scrap a page for fun!

Typically you try to scrap it in less than an hour but you have 24 hours to complete the challenge.

Here are the instructions from the latest MIS. I give full credit to Tracy for these fun instructions.

Instructions:

1. Even number of photos
2. Two titles; Main (@THE MOVIES) AND Sub-title (LIGHTS CAMERA ACTION)
3. Four or more uncommon elements, common elements are flowers, leaves, stars, hearts, and all fasteners (Popcorn Box, Soda Cup, Popcorn Scatter, Movie Ticket)
4. Two or more buttons; buttons as the center of a flower do not count towards this button count; you can use flowers with button centers. (two blue buttons on left of journal tag)
5. Stars; used in paper or elements.

And here's some fun pages I found from the challenge:

If you make a page using the instruction above be sure to share in the comments! I love seeing them.

Finished and Printed 6x8 Document Your December Album

I am in love with this album!

  • It was fun and easy to create. I scrapped a very simple page for every day in December leading up to Christmas.
  • It's just the right size for my little kids to carry around and look at.
  • It was cheap enough to print right away.
  • There's room to add to it every year. I'll just divide the years with page dividers.

Here are some specifics on what I used for my Document Your December Album.

Album Supplies:

Here's a little peak at all of my pages. What fun memories and I can tell you that my kids have already look at the album several times!

I chose a ring binder album for a few reasons. 1. It's really easy for my kids to flip through, and with page protectors I don't have to worry about pages getting ruined. 2. There aren't many options out there for printing 6x8 portrait albums. 3. This wasn't really a reason but it's a BONUS! There's plenty of room for at least a few more years. I'll just add to it every year. Next year I'll just have to print the pages. 4. Another bonus that I didn't think about is that it's just the right size for my kids to carry around the house. The 12x12 size books are just too massive for the little ones to carry around.

This is me holding the album. It's just so cute.

And the main reason that I scrapbook. My kids. They love seeing how cherished they are and how our moments have meaning.

I hope this gives you inspiration to finish up those DYD albums or to consider making one next year.

Week 2, My January Calendar and More China Pages

I finished up this page yesterday. If you follow me on Instagram you might have seen my "story" on how I was trying to scrapbook with 3 little ones climbing all over me. They get so excited when I scrapbook and they see their faces on my pages.

Last week was a pretty normal week. We are back into our school routine and slowly getting back to music lessons, hearing therapy, etc...

Not sure if I've shared what I'm doing with my new 2018 Calendar Planner series. It's all a blur over here lately. I'm documenting our days with these and then going to add these to the end of my Weekly album. I think it will be fun to look back to see what our schedule looked like over the year. I've finished the last two weeks. I'm filling them in at the end of each week. It literally takes me about 5 minutes to update it at the end of the week. So easy.

Last weekend I scrapped a few more China pages.  I'm working on our last day in China! Woohoo. So close to get these printed. You'll have to click on the image to get full credits as I used WAY too many things on these pages which isn't my usual style, but sometimes it's fun to do something different.

Look at those cuties. They sure have changed in just over a year.

I miss China.

How did your weekend scrapping go?

2018 Printed Top-Hanging Calendar

Using my 2018 Calendar Template Bundle
And BYOC from 2017  products from TLP

I finished my 2018 top-hanging calendar back in December and got it ordered from Adoramapix. I received it a couple of weeks ago and I'm just now getting time to show it to you. I'm not going to re-hash a whole bunch about the top-hanging calendar since none of my opinions have changed. I don't even think the pricing has changed. You can read my review from 2016 and get a closer look at some of the details there.

Above you can see all of the scrapped pages for the month and below you can see some pictures of the printed calendar and how it was packaged.

You can see there is a little sway to the page. I think that will work itself out as it hangs there. Here's a close up of the front cover. I just love how it turned out. I think it's my favorite page. Maybe I'll just use it as a poster on my wall!

And you can still grab the FREE 2018 Cover Template here as well as take a closer look at all of my 2018 Calendar Pages.

What's great about the top-hanging album is that you can start on any month that you want to. So it's never to late to start or print an album.

Soon I will be creating 2019 calendar grids for my Calendar Templates so you can get started on those 2019 Calendar pages!
