A Year in Review! New releases from Scrapping With Liz!

Well all I can say is wow! I'm finally getting myself back into a routine after Christmas (I hope you all had a happy holiday by the way!) and I want to show you what Liz has for you this week!
These fantastic templates are aimed at your year in review pages, but as the CT have discovered, they're also great for album title/cover pages and also to not only review your loved one's/family's year but also maybe your scrapping style as CT Member Tiff did. Just take a look at the layout under the product preview :)

Here's the CT pages...

I personally love creating any kind of 'review' page as I just love seing the difference between the subject of the photos. You can pick up this pack of CU/S4H templates for 20% off until the 6th of Jan. And if you buy them & use them, don't forget to upload your page into Liz's gallery.
Sending you best wishes for 2011,
Ellie :)

Life with Liz - My Advent Page

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and a great month. I'm here to show you my finished advent page from my challenge, you can read about it here.

I will admit that I didn't take a photo every day. I missed just a few. But I went back and took photos of different objects that represented what we did. So not to worry if you didn't take a photo every day, it's still possible to finish your advent page.

After doing this little challenge I've decided that next year I'm going to go a little bigger. I would like to make a whole December album with a page for every day. Maybe a mini album or something. I have a whole year to think about it and plan but who knows, maybe you'll see a little something in my store next year for this project.

Without further ado here is my page. It's a little busy but I LOVE the mix of photos and I know I will look back and remember all the different things we did to celebrate Christmas.

Here's my 2nd page for the journaling of each day.

Here's the journaling if you are interested:
1. We started Dec. 1 by beginning to read “Rediscoving the Christmas Season” reading plan for the month of Dec. A passage each day until Christmas.
2. Each year we have the cousins over to decorate gingerbread houses. We did this on day 2. I didn’t think our gingerbread houses were that pretty but my daughter said they were beautiful!
3. Each year in our little town they have “Winter Wonderland.” It’s fun to walk down main street and visit the shops, get cookies and hot cider and see all the pretty decorations.
4. Today was the day to decorate our tree and put out our manger scene. I pretty much let the girls decorate the tree on their own this year....I just snapped photos.
5. We went and saw the Nutcracker. We’ve been studying it in school and some of our good friends were in it. The girls enjoyed seeing Nathan and Michelle do the Spanish Chocolate dance.
6. A friend gave the girls little advent gifts that they get to open each day of Dec. leading up to Christmas. Here’s a picture of Kyla opening up day 6. Today’s little gift were snowmen pin.
7. Today we spent some time making some special ornaments to hang on the girls small tree that is in their room.
8. Shawn usually spends a day decorating the outside of our house full of lights. This year he didn’t have the time so he and the girls strung a row of lights around the porch and over the door.
9. Here’s something we do every night during December. I’ve been slowly collecting Christmas books and so every night we read a different Christmas book.
10. We always have a little Christmas party with our friends. At this particular party the girls put on a performance....complete with music, outfits & popcorn.
11. What is Christmas without baking?!? Today we spent some time making  brownie peppermint sticks & white chocolate gorp...one of our favorites every year.
12. My hubby and I are trying to make it a tradition to go to the Andrew Peterson Christmas concert. Unfortunately we didn’t make it this year because of snow. :-(
13. Christmas needs music and we have a lot of fun listening to our own mix of Christmas music. The girls also learn a Christmas song on the piano each year.
14. Something our family does every year is we go shopping and split up and the girls buy presents for mommy & daddy. The lucky store this year was wal-mart.
15. I think we started a new tradition this year. I got the girls to wrapping one night and they wrapped almost all the presents.....it was lovely!
16. Here we are at our homeschool Christmas party....we sang songs at the nursing home and then we decorated Christmas cookies.
17. We read a special Christmas book every night of Dec. and every year I buy a new book. My goal is to have 25 books so that we can read a different one each night. This was the book I bought this year.
18. Something new this year that the girls did that I decided would become a tradition. They had a birthday party for Jesus....they set it up and invited mommy & daddy to come.
19. Every year there is some sort of Christmas program for the children at our church. Our girls always participate.
20. Usually our Christmas baking lasts a few days. Here we are getting ready to make some more goodies!
21. Something my mom always did, when I was growing up, was have a Christmas cookie decorating party. This year she had a party for all of her grandchildren....I hope it becomes a tradition.
22. This year I started a new tradition (hopefully). We went to the local pottery place and painted Christmas ornaments.
23. And of course we have to drive around and see Christmas lights....but this year Grandpa came to us in his festive truck!
24. Here the girls are ready to go to the annual Christmas Eve service at our church.
25. Christmas morning - see all those happy faces! Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; He is the Messiah, the Lord! Luke 2:11

If you've joined me in this challenge I would love to see your finished pages. You can post the links in the comments section and I'll take a look. If you are just reading this and missed out on planning this challenge then I encourage you to go around your house before all those Christmas decorations are taken down and snap some photos of your Christmas memories and you can also use some of the photos I know you've taken during the month of December.

Customer Spotlight - tiffanyberg!!!

Good morning all you faithful Scrapping With Liz followers! I hope this blog post finds you all well and ready for the Christmas holiday that is just days away!

Today I am spotlighting a newbie to digital scrapbooking, tiffanyberg! Although, you would not know she is new to the craft by looking at her layouts. Seriously! Let's get to know Tiffany a little, shall we?

What is your favorite part about digital scrapbooking?
I think my favorite thing about digi-scrapping is how you can try something and then just delete it if you don't like it! With traditional scrapbooking, you waste lots of paper and supplies if you do that too much.

How long have you been scrapping (traditional and/or digital)?
I've been traditional scrapping for almost 5 years now. I started when my first son was born. I was a stay-at-home mom and loved taking pictures of my new baby. My sister-in-law had given me some scrapbooking stuff so I decided to start using it all with all these pictures I had! :) I've been digitial scrapbooking for about 3 weeks!

What is it you think draws you to a Scrapping With Liz template?
Her templates are so easy to use and I love how they remind my of traditional scrapbooking pages. Liz's templates get me going, but then they're so easy to make them my own.

What is your favorite SWL product?
I think her templates are my favorite.

Can you link me to a layout using that favorite product?

Let's try some non-scrap related questions....

Besides scrapbooking (lol) what is your favorite way to pass time/hobby?
I love taking pictures of my 3 boys! One of my favorite things to do is take them to the park or out in the yard and just let them play while I snap away!

Tell us one place you dream of going on vacation someday?
I would love to go to Rome. I've always thought it would be so cool to see all the history there!

Do you have any phobia's?
I am pretty claustrophobic! I don't even like to think about tight places! :)

What is one goal you hope to achieve in 2011?
My oldest son will be 5 in June and he's dying to learn to read. So, I'm hoping to have him reading by this time next year!

What is your favorite season and why?
My husband and I met and fell in love in the fall. I like fall the best, because it reminds me of so many fun times just him and I.

I hope you have enjoyed getting to know Tiffany. To check out some of Tiffany's other layouts click HERE. I hope you will go leave her some much deserved LOVE! I am looking forward to seeing her gallery grow.

Merry Christmas! I will be back in the new year to bring you a brand new template challenge for January!!

Life with Liz - Christmas Newsletter & Advent Calendar

Happy Tuesday everyone! I'm here today to just give you a quick peek at my annual "Christmas Newsletter" that I send out every year to family and friends (they haven't even seen it yet!) and then my updated Advent Calendar Page.

Here's my newsletter that I made up and I used my handy-dandy Christmas Newsletter Templates that I just released in the store this week and you can still grab them at 20% off! I also used a fabulous kit from Vera Lim called Be Merry. Actually it's the same one I used in my Advent Calendar Challenge Page that you'll see below.
Now, you can call me cheap (although I prefer thrifty or maybe even "going green") The past few years I've been posting my newsletter on my personal facebook page and tagging everyone who I normally would send a Christmas card to. It does save money, time & paper!...I do still print & send it out to those few people who don't use facebook. Sorry to all you folks who like to hold something in your hand.
Here are the Christmas Newsletter Templates that I used.
I also just wanted to show you my updated Advent Calendar Page. It's been 6 days now and I've been good and taken a picture every day of something special we've done to celebrate the Christmas season.
Here's the journaling I've added on page 2. I figured I would just show you the journaling, it's a bit easier to read on the blog then if I post the actual page.

I'm having a lot of fun with this and I'll hope you join me with this challenge. It's not too late to begin. You could take photos around your house of different things you do to celebrate Christmas. It wouldn't necessarily be on the actual day. Just go here to read about it!

If you already have joined me I hope you are having as much fun as me!
