When You Smile Templates and a Sale

Giveaway: Thanks for participating in Monday's giveaway. We enjoyed reading about all the things that make you smile. Today's winner (chosen by random.org) is babygrl_wicked. Please contact

Liz to receive your free templates.

News: Liz is having a Birthday Sale!!  Happy Birthday, Liz! The entire store is 35% off now through July 31st.  Stock up on your favorites at a great price!

New Products: Liz has teamed up with Rachel of Captivated Visions again, bringing you templates inspired by Rachel's new kit When You Smile. And this set of templates is sure to bring a smile to your face. It's full of paper-pieced goodness and variety, with a mix of fuller page designs (with lots of photo spots) and some featuring white space and fewer photos. Some have wonky edges and some are more straight and clean. But all have a very hand-made and joyful feel to them. Use them with the When You Smile kit to scrap your happy moments, or use any kit to scrap in the direction your creativity takes you.

When You Smile Templates are licensed for CU/PU/S4H and are Creative Team Friendly - you may use them for CT work with other designers.  These are also 35% off during Liz's sale!

Summer Fun Rewind

Last month I shared some of my older Vacation pages and then some of my birthday pages. Since I just finished up a page about one of our favorite summer traditions I thought I would dig up the pages I made from the very first year we started this tradition.

My brother and sister-in-law have a slip and slide party every summer at their house. Here is the double pager I just finished highlighting pictures from this year's party.

Now to show you some pages from the very first slip and slide party. Look at my little girls....so tiny! I still like double page layouts....3 years later....although I think I've gotten a little bit better at them.

Then here's a page of the actual slip and slide that very first year. I think over the past couple of years the slip and slide has gotten a bit bigger & we have new people join us each year.

So that is one of our family traditions. Do you have a tradition that you end up scrapping about each year? I find that I scrap the same events each year and it's so fun to go back and look over my pages from the same events....I can see how my family has grown & how my scrapbooking has grown. I know that my digital scrapbooking has improved a lot over these past 3 years....you can see it in my pages.

New Frames and Masks (and Freebie)

Giveaway: This weeks giveaway goes to dtahphotography. Congrats! Liz will be getting you your coupon code.  Come back next week for another chance to win!

News: A sale!  Five sets of double page templates are on sale (35% off) today through July 28.

New Releases: Liz showed the CT a peek at these frames weeks ago, and I have been not-so-patiently waiting ever since.  Both sets are similar with the same eight frame shapes.  Doodled Frames have a clean and polished look to the doodles;  Sketched Frames take on a messier free-hand style.  Both come with plain doodle .pngs, as well as layered .psd files with photo clipping mask, white frame mat and doodle.

Sketched Frames
Next up is a new addition to the faded/opacity mask line.  Faded Masks & Mats is a set of nine faded masks with matching background clipping masks for adding a paper behind your photo.  The masks have a very modern style and create amazing artistic effects for your photos.  In Liz's examples, I notice that she picks a paper that has similar color and texture to the background in the photo - the result being a seamless fading of the photo into the paper.

Team Creations: Here is what the team made with these frames and masks, using kits from Scrap Orchard.

Oh and Be sure to sign up for Liz's newsletter because there will be another freebie there for you! There's also a freebie on her facebook page (you just have to scroll down a little bit).

Video Tutorials - Templates

First off I want to say thank you to everyone who left a comment on last Tuesday's blog post. I've made my decision but you'll have to wait to see what I chose for my wall! I've ordered the print from Persnickety Prints and once I get it all hung up I'll show you all. You guys really did help me make my decision!

Okay, now on to today's post. I had someone ask me how to use a template. I pointed them to my blog and my tutorials and told them that I would eventually do a video tutorial on how to use a template. DUH, I totally did that about 6 months ago but I don't think I ever showed them to you here...maybe I did, but I can't find them.  I made these videos for the Scrap Orchard's You Tube channel. Sorry if you are seeing this twice!

The first one will show you how to begin with the template and the second one will show you how to finish up the template. That's my cute little niece that you see on my page. Oh and you can grab the kit and template that I'm using at Scrap Orchard for FREE! Just go here to grab the kit.

Hope that helps some of you!
And sorry to those who may have already seen it.
I will be doing some new video tutorials soon!

Monday Sneak Peek & Giveaway

Happy Monday everyone! Shwew, I had a busy weekend and I'm kind of glad it's Monday so that I can get back into a little bit of a routine. Today I have a little bit of a different sneak peek for you. I have two new products coming out this week and I just had to test out both of my new products (because they are so awesome! LOL) and I thought I would show you what I made with them. They aren't full templates but different masks and such that you can use on your digital scrapbook pages.

Here's the first one:
See the way the photo is blended into the paper mat? Well, that's one of the new products. Some fun fades and mats. This is a page I scrapped showing the Space Shuttle Atlantis taking off for the last time. We were able to see it take off when we were in Florida. What a neat experience! I used AnnaBV's kit Hazy Beach to make this page.

Now onto the next new product. Here's what I did with it:
Some fun commercial use doodled frames are coming your way! These are great for digi pages and just for highlighting photos on your blog or wherever. Plus I made them super easy to customize.

So if you want a chance to win these goodies just leave a comment here and we'll announce the winner on Thursday's blog post as usual! Oh and just a heads up there will be a freebie here on my blog on Thursday so that you can test out these new goodies and there will be another freebie in my newsletter. Plus I've just reached the 1800 mark with my facebook fan page and I will be giving away a freebie soon over there!

Now onto some fun happenings going on over at Scrap Orchard. This week's Make it Snappy has prizes from Kat! She has some gorgeous stuff.

Iron Scrapper is still going on and it's not too late to get in the running to win that iPad.
Here's the page I made with this weeks Iron Scrapper Grab Bag.

That's it folks! Hope you have a great Monday.

Yin & Yang and more Double Templates

Giveaway: Thank you all for playing along with the giveaway on Monday. Liz used random.org to pick the winner and this weeks winner is Crystal! Crystal if you could email Liz at lizatscrappingwithlizdotcom and she'll get you your free templates! Everyone else, come back next week for another chance to win!

News and new releases:  Liz has two amazing releases this week.  The first one I'll show you is so feminine and pretty. Yin & Yang Template Collab was made with Cheryl of Fiddle-Dee-Dee Designs.  These templates have Liz's signature touch with faded masks and scallops, and Cheryl provided delicate and lovely element cluster guides.  This set is diverse too, with a mix of journaling space and photo content.

Yin & Yang Template Collab
Double Page Journaling Templates is a set of 4 pairs of single page templates (eight total).  One half of each pair contains a large text expanse, and the matching half sports a multi-photo arrangement.  You can use them to build two page designs, but you can use the photo templates by themselves if you like. And you can use the journaling templates by themselves for narrative layouts.

Help me Choose & Word Art Freebie

I need your help! I made up this word art to frame and hang in my house but I don't know which one I like the best. At first I made the word art with the intent of clipping pretty digital scrapbooking papers to it but after I made both I almost liked the plain one better. Then I decided to add some shadows just to see what it would look like. I just don't know which one I like best. I keep changing my mind I showed them all to my hubby and OF COURSE he chose the one that I was leaning less towards. Ahhh....help. So could you tell me which one you like best and be sure to look below to download the word art for free! Oh and I made it to fit into a 16x20 frame and I'll probably go with a simple black frame....so try to picture that when you are thinking about which one you like best.
Is it #1. The plain, simple and colorful one.
#2. The more pretty one with digital scrapbook paper clipped to the different layers.
All the pretty papers are from different kits I had in my stash from Scrap Orchard.
Or #3. The one that looks more handmade with the shadows.
Help me out....pretty please. Once I make a decision (hopefully with some help from you all) then I'll get it printed, framed and hang it in my house and show it to you all.

Oh and that's not all. For helping me out you can download the plain word art in PNG & layered PSD for FREE here so that you can make your own picture for your house or you can use it for your digital scrapbooking pages. I sized it at 16x20....a little bigger then a 12x12. Mainly because that's the size I wanted to print it at. It can easily be resized to whatever you would like.

Thanks for giving me your opinion!

Sneak Peek, Giveaway & Something Extra!

Hello everyone! It's so great to be back home, sleeping in my own bed, cooking in my own kitchen, kids going to bed at a normal time....me working late in the comfort of my own couch! It really is nice.

Although I was gone all last week I did have some time to put together a few goodies for this week. I have something extra awesome coming out on Thursday. I've collabed with the wonderful, amazing, awesome Cheryl of Fiddle Dee Dee Designs and we've come up with an amazing set of templates for you. I think you'll find it a perfect mix of her and me put together! But that's not all I have for you. I also put together another set of templates that I think you are going to like. I have 2 words...okay maybe 3 words: journaling, double pagers. Is that enough of a hint for you?

Now if you want to win these goodies just leave a comment here and we'll announce the winner on Thursday's blog post. You have until midnight Wed. to post a comment. PLUS you may want to keep an eye out because I'll be giving these away in some other places. Keep an eye on my facebook where I'll be sure to tell you where you can go to enter for a chance to win.

Now before you leave I've got to show you the other fun stuff that is going on over at Scrap Orchard this week. First of all I have to tell you about Iron Scrapper. If you haven't already joined in the challenge there is still plenty of time. They are giving away an iPad, $200 to Scrap Orchard, plus lots more! You earn points for the different challenges you participate in and then at the end of Iron Scrapper they will do a drawing....the more points the more chances you have to win! Today they are having a chat where you can earn some extra points! I'm going to try and be there.

Here's a layout I did for the week 1 challenge. I used the Iron Scrapper Week 1 Grab Bag which is only $4 and is only available this week! It is a gorgeous kit! Perfect for those summer photos. These were pics I just took last week at the beach. I actually scrapped this on the way home from Florida.

There's another Make it Snappy. In case you didn't realize it they have on every Wednesday night at 10pm eastern and there are always prizes! I hear they are a lot of fun and one of these weeks I'm going to participate.....I'm going to get over my fear of creating a page in 1 hour! I know it can be done. There are tons of gorgeous pages created every week in the Make it Snappy challenge.

Okay, now on to the really cool news...not that the rest of that wasn't cool....this is just really cool! Scrap Orchard has a rewards program now and it is awesome! Basically for every $1 you spend at Scrap Orchard you earn 1 plum point and 10 points equal a dollar. So spend $20 and you'll get $2 off your next purchase! You can read more of the details here or click on the pic.

I'll stop boring you now with my ads and let you get back to your blogs, cup of coffee, photoshop, forums....whatever it is you do after you read my blog post. Have a happy Monday and don't forget to leave a comment for a chance to win the new products!

My Vacation Pages

Today's post is a little late and that's because I'm on vacation in Florida. Well, it's sort of vacation. We are visiting family the whole week but while we are here we try to fit in some fun vacationy things too. We took the girls to Downtown Disney this morning and let them play at the Lego store and get wet in the water fountains. Just so you know.....if you ever come to central Florida and want something free to do just go to Downtown Disney and play with the free stuff....they can play with Legos, Potato Heads & get wet in the fountains! It's FREE & FUN! Okay, back to the blog post. Since I'm on vacation I thought it would be fun to share some of my past vacation pages. Plus I had so much fun last week showing you my birthday pages that I thought  it would be fun to look through some of my old vacation pages and share them with you too.

Just a warning: Some of these are pretty old so forgive me for my techniques & I don't have credits for all of them. For the ones that have credits you can click on the pic to get full credits. Hope you enjoy looking at them.
