Leap Year Sale and New Double Templates

In honor of Leap Year, all of the Fresh Fruit is being released a day early & the new releases are on sale TODAY ONLY for 29% off! Liz has two new digital scrapbook releases in the Market, and they both have something in common:  double-page templates!  I used to scrap exclusively single pages, but in the last six months I've done several 2-page layouts and I've found that I love them.

But before I go on let me announce Monday's Giveaway winner. It was The Steigmeiers. Congrats and please send me a message so I can get you both of these new releases!

Double Album Templates III has lots of photo spots in matted squares and rectangles, and the photos are on the large side, which I love.  This set has a bit of decoration with scallops and little paper banners and just a bit of clustering.

The second new release is a collaboration with SuzyQ ScrapsBirthday Wishes Add-On Bundle comes complete with a large mini kit plus a 2-page quickpage and a 2-page Quick Start Template.  The Quick Start Template comes with some elements already placed for you.  You can still make it your own, but it gives you a little running start.  But if you're pressed for time, you can use the quick page - just drop in your photos and journaling.

There will be a Templates Make It Snappy (speed scrap) this weekend on Facebook.  I got a peek at the template you'll get for free - it's awesome.  You don't want to miss it!

Time Table Templates

Liz recently completed a "Day In The Life" photo project, and the digital scrapbook templates she used are now available in the market as Time Table Templates.  I was so inspired by Liz's completed project that I'm considering doing it myself!  I love the different display options this set of templates has - keep it simple with just the photos and timestamps, or you can add journaling on a separate page.  But there is also a design with captioned photos to keep everything together.

No one on the team happened to be embarking on a Day In The Life project, but they still found ways to use these templates for multi-photo and textual layouts.  Here is some inspiration.
Thanks for stopping by.

My Walls - My Style

Just recently I decorated a wall in my daughter's bedroom (see below) and when I was decorating it I thought about how my wall decorating style is very similar to the way I scrapbook. I like lots of photos/frames/pictures with a linear style. You will rarely find a single photo or picture on any of my walls and I can almost say the same thing for my scrapbook pages. You will rarely find me scrap just a single image. That's just how I roll.

So I thought I would show you some of my walls.

This is what you see when you walk into our house. Yes, those are blank photo frames you see....um, I'm afraid to admit it, but they've been like that for about a year. This is another reminder to myself that I need to get some pictures printed! Oh and the two older pics you see are my grandparents on their wedding day.....my favorite part of this wall!

Another favorite wall. I made silhouettes of my girls and then framed them. Read more about how I did that here. Plus those are old scrapbooks from my grandma and the two vases are also from my grandmother. And yes, that's a dying plant you see there....one thing I am NOT good at

Here's the wall I did most recently in my daughter's room. I wanted to personalize it a bit just for her. You can read more about that here.

I did thise awhile ago with digital scrapbook paper. You can read more about that here.

I have a few of these multi-photo frames around the house.

My three little girls when they were babies.

I just had to show you this wall. I used magnetic paint. Let me just tell you that it was a pain in the butt! 5 coats later and I still had to order special strong magnets just so it would work. Either way I really do love it. I love that it can change daily and the girls are free to put their art work up there as they please. I guess this might not really be considered linear style, would it? The frame is...I guess but not what is inside.

My wall map in our school room.

Another wall in our school room. Even among the messiness of it I have nice clean lines.

Here's the wall in my office. I didn't just like the one corkboard so I had to add the clock and the little frame.

A wall where I only have one item....but it's nice and big where it takes up almost the whole space. This was a very recent pinterest project.

And this is a wall I need to decorate.....but I'm waiting. Some of you know that my husband and I are going through an adoption process. We could hear about our little girl any day now and I'm saving this wall just for her. I have some ideas but I don't want to do anything until we know who she is....then I can make a special wall just for her.

Now take a look around your house. Does your scrapbooking style reflect the style of your home? I'm just curious.

GSO Winner Announced!

Please join me and congratulating Evie (flutterbyefaery) on winning this month’s GSO!  Evie was up against some stunning competition this month but you the voters chose her lovely layout of her daughter as the best. We loved this layout for it’s mix of black & white and color photos, the stitched hearts and the bright pinks and greens.

We got a chance to ask Evie about herself and this is what she said...

How long have you been digi-scrapping?

I started digital scrapbooking about 5 years ago when I found a really cheap program at BestBuy that looked interesting. It had all the papers & elements in the program. Then several months later I discovered the whole digiscrap world on the internet and made the switch to a real editing program and real kits.

What is your favorite thing to scrap about?

I love to scrap my kids, of course. Unfortunately my son is very camera shy and my daughter would pose all day for me, so I have way more pages of her.

What is your favorite Liz product?

Just one? I'd have to say the Ying Yang collab set, but really anything with the photo blends! That's probably my favorite part of her templates.

If you were any digi-scrapbook item, which one would you be?

Hmmmm... I guess I'd be anything crocheted since that's my other favorite hobby besides scrapping. I've been crocheting for over 20 years now.

If you love this layout check out Liz's collab the Ying and Yang Templates 2 and create your own gorgeousness.

Sneak Peek & Giveaway!

I'm a routine type of girl and therefore it is time for my usual Monday sneak peek and giveaway! Although I did mix up my little sneak peek image for you this week.  If you want more of a sneak peek then just go to  my Day In the Life blog post because you'll see what I did with some of the templates that will be released this week. I'm super excited about them....to be truthful, I made them for myself. I made them thinking about the photos I wanted to scrap and the way I wanted to scrap them....but I thought maybe you guys might like them too.

So if you are interested in them and would like a chance to win them just leave a comment here letting me know if you've ever taken photos with the intention of documenting your daily routine. I'll announce the winner on 2/22 around 11pm EST here in the comments and on my facebook. I had a LOT of fun documenting my day.....I know you would too if you haven't already done it.

And since I'm a girl with a routine, I shall now remind you of a few things.

These are always fun!

It's getting closer! There's still time to sign up.
I'm going and I REALLY want to see you there!

Journal or Not Templates

I love the name of Liz's new templates: Journal or Not Templates, and the name says it all.  All of these templates have large text boxes that fill the background - so you can journal away.  But she designed them so that they also look great even if you completely turn off the text.  It's like two sets of templates in one.  This set has single and multi-photo templates, with options for smaller or larger photos, and they all have fun paper layering and just a bit of clustering.

The team had fun with these both with and without journaling.

Thanks for stopping by.  Now go do some journaling ... or not.

A Day In the Life

One of the challenges I wanted to do this year was "A Day in the Life". When I saw that Ali Edwards was doing hers last Wednesday I decided I would join her in the challenge. So I got my camera all ready and snapped photos all day along. I even had my children and my hubby snap a few for me....I think they thought I was a little crazy!

Anyway, here is my day summed up in a scrapbook page.....and if you like my pages these will be available as templates very soon!

I tried to keep the pages nice and simple to focus more on the photos, time and journaling.

Here's the 2 page spread.
I went from left to right with my time sequence.

Left Side

Right Side

And here's a little journaling page describing the photos a little bit better.
I used Faith True's Rub On Alpha. The font is McPhatty.
I had so much fun doing this project. When I went to look at my photos and put them onto a page, I realized how blessed I really am and how much I really do love my life. I can't imagine a life with no homeschooling, no girls, no hubby, no God.......oh and no template making! :)

My hope is to do this project again. I would really like to document every day of the week. Most of the days are pretty much the same, except for our afternoon activities and the weekends. It would be fun to have a page for every day of the week.

I wonder what I'll think when I look back at these pages in about 10 years. I'll probably think, "Wow, I miss those crazy busy fun days with my young children!" or maybe I'll say, "I enjoyed those days while they lasted but I'm glad to be on to this next phase of my life!" Either way, I want to live life to the fullest in the present! Live life serving God, my family and others, right now and always.

-Liz

P.S. Just to clarify: One of my favorite parts of the day is combing my oldest daughter's hair and chatting with her about the day.....although sitting down to my computer at night is a close second. It was a little confusing in the journaling. :)

Beautiful!

Evie (flutterbyefaery) created this bright and pretty layout of a lovely young lady using the Ying and Yang Templates 2. We adore the black and white photo blends in opposite corners paired with the photo strip of color photos. There are several great finishing touches but our favorite is the line/scatter of stitched hearts.

Joyful!

Lynnette (LRaeWoo) created this natural and fun layout of her sons using the Celebrate Templates. We love the photo that captures a natural, everyday moment and the "wood" paper, curving journaling /title and bright colors.

Playful!

Rebecca (Aurian) created this amazing list layout using the Ianthine Templates. We love the warm tones in the photos and how they pop against the kit and the very linear look of her list contrasted with the circles on the opposite side. We wish her luck with her list!

Ambitious!

Meagan (mayofthemoon) created this too cute layout of her children's Prince and Princess Party using a Thursday Template Freebie. We love themed pages and this series of photos is too cute. We want to play Pin the Tail on Pascal.

Sweet!

Recyclables 9 and Doubles 20% OFF

Liz has some fun new templates in the Market.  They aren't exactly new, but there is a lot of variety ... single photo, multi-photo, a little or a lot of journaling, calendar titles and a double page template.

Recyclables 9 is a collection of recent freebies.  They are no longer available for free, but you can now find them in the Market.  They're great as a sampler of Liz's designs, if they are new to you.  This set has 7 page layouts and two calendar title pages that coordinate with the Calendar CD Case Templates and the Perpetual Calendar Templates.

Double It Up Template is a great two-pager with lots of photo spots.  This was a prize in the Scrap Orchard Super Bowl festivities, but if you weren't able to participate and love this template, you can still get it.

Here is some inspiration from the team using the Recyclables.

Scrap Orchard has been hosting Rumble in the Orchard. It's a battle of the different Creative Teams from Scrap Orchard. We asked Liz to make us a special text box this week for our challenge. We needed a clover. So she whipped us up a couple of styles and let us choose which one we liked and now you can grab them for FREE. Just click on the image to download......and if you wouldn't mind voting for team SupercalafragaLIZtics when it's time to vote we would GREATLY appreciate it. Voting should be up this Sunday for the final round.
