Masks, Doodles, 20% OFF Sale & FWP

The doodles come in solid, sketched, paint brushed and dotted versions.  These are 20% off through 9/6. But wait! Before you go do a little shopping you might want to know that Scrap Orchard is having their Summer Rewind Sale. All summer products are 20% off again! PLUS there is an awesome free with purchase deal.

My August Pages

I scrapped a LOT this month. I get in this really bad habit (or good habit, I suppose) that when I start scrapping I really don't want to do anything else.  I think that is what happened this month. In fact, instead of writing this blog post, I really wanted to scrap another page.  But I'm being a good girl and showing you what I did this past month since it was one of my commitments at the beginning of this year. I stayed on track for my 2012 goals. It probably helps that I didn't take a lot of photos in August because that helped me catch up a little bit.

Are you ready to see them all?
Here goes. I'm going to start with the pages I made with my August pictures from 2011.

Wow! I did really bad at taking pictures this month. I only scrapped two pages and that pretty much sums up the pictures I took BUT there's always a plus side. Since I didn't have that many photos to scrap I was able to catch up on some of my older photos.

Here are some 2012 photos from past months that I hadn't had a chance to work on.

I even scrapped a November 2011 page to get a little ahead of my goal.
Using a Scrap Orchard Collab that you can get for free if you spend $15 during SO's Summer Rewind Sale.
The sale starts tomorrow.

Is the moral of the story here to take less pictures so you can catch up on your scrapping goals? Hmmm, probably not, even though it worked for me just this one month! I'm sure I'll have plenty of pictures in September as I'm traveling all the way around the world to pick up my daughter. I can't wait to show you those pages!

Heart Doodles and Masks & Crazy Strips

Liz has two clipping mask releases today. Scrappers can use them to make elements or paper pieces for your scrapbook layouts, and designers can use them in the creation of kits.

Heart Doodles and Masks has five different heart shapes and 15 doodles to use as overlays or use on their own.

Crazy Strips has 11 funky shapes - some with uneven edges, some with streaky edges, some with graduated edges, even a big zig zag and some wave shapes.

My Life in Digital Scrapbook Pages

I don't have a normal Wednesday post for you this week but I wrote a guest post for Scrap Orchard and It's all about how my digital scrapbook pages tell the story of my life and why digital scrapbooking is important to me. So if you have a chance go on over there and read it. You might learn a little bit more about me and you might find some more reasons to digital scrapbook.

Happy Wednesday!

Double Album Templates IV

Double Album Templates IV are great for scrapping events with lots of pictures, or just for scrapping your everyday snapshots. They have a graphic collage style (photos without shadows) with layered elements on top to bring in that traditional scrapbook look. This set is 45% off Thursday and Friday (8/16-8/17) and will return to 20% off through 8/23.

The team made some gorgeous pages with these.  They are fabulous for more minimal and masculine pages, but also look great with all the embellishments added.

45% OFF SALE & LOTS more!

It's almost time to bring our little girl home! My husband and I are trying to raise the last little bit of money we need to bring Lydia home. We are just waiting for our Travel Approval and then we can make plans to go get her! I haven't talked a lot about the adoption here on my scrapping blog (you can read the few posts that I've written about it if you click on the adoption category on the right of my blog) but you guys have all been a BIG part of this journey. If it wasn't for you I don't know that we would have been able to pay for the adoption expenses without going into debt.....but we still have a little way to go and that's why I'm having this two day sale. Everything I make during this sale will go towards our travel costs and our orphanage donation. To make it even more fun and to kind of give back just a portion of what you guys have done for me, my Creative Team and I have some fun stuff planned during this sale.

The first thing you might want to know about is that I have some extra special discounts if you spend a certain amount during the sale.
Make sure when you check out that your total purchase amount is the specified amount on the ad above to get the listed discount. I will be sending out your coupons 8/18/12 and they will be good on future purchases.

The second thing you might want to do (after shopping of course!) is grab the free template on my facebook page. Just go on over to my facebook and click on the freebie tab. DOWNLOAD IS EXPIRED.

I actually scrapped this page first and then made the template. I love the up close look and deep shadows. Not my most traditional template but it's lots of fun!
Using Miss Priss by Designs by Megan Turnidge

Then the third, fourth, fifth and sixth thing you might want to do is participate in the fun games my CT have planned. There are some awesome challenges, games and prizes! These will all be posted in the Buzz forum over at Scrap Orchard.

Okay, after you've done all that then you might want to check this out! Warning: This has nothing to do with digital scrapbooking and yes I'm plugging my husbands little side business BUT it's all for Lydia. He makes cigar box guitars and sells them on Etsy. So far all of his sales have helped fund our adoption as well. So......if you know anyone that might like one these little babies be sure to check them out or send them his way. You can find him here at his Etsy shop or at his blog. Right now he has three guitars available and they are all under $100! Oh and if you buy one make sure you tell him his wife sent you! Maybe I'll get some brownie points. ;)

And last, but certainly not least, I would like to ask for prayers for our safe travels and all the other things that go along with bringing a new child into your family.

And here's a page I scrapped with the most recent pictures I have of Lydia.
and Got Nothing but Love by Tracie Stroud and Jady Day Studios.

Thank you all so much, the digital scrapbooking community has been amazingly supportive of my family and I and we appreciate it so much. I'll be keeping you all posted about our trip and bringing her home.

August GSO -- Vote and Win!

It's Tracy here and it is time to pick the August GSO! Make sure to vote, HERE, by this Saturday the 18th and you will receive a 30% off coupon to Liz's store* and you will be entered into a drawing, where one lucky voter will win $5 to Liz's store!! July had some AWESOME layouts full of family, music, sports, and adventures but here are our top seven!

(and don't forget to leave the nominees some love, the titles are linked back to their gallery posts)

Super Sweet by Stacey (Stacey)
We love this layout using the July Template Revisited Challenge for its super sweet photo, mixed word tag/alpha title, the minimalist elements/clusters that let the layout's emotion shine through.  Sweet!

Summer Music Festival by Chrissy (angel85qcca)
This is a fun layout using the Birthday Celebration Template. We love the mix of black and white with color photos on bright yellow background; it pulls you right in. The minimal, but colorful, accents let the photos speak for themselves. Perfect Pitch!!!

King of Basketball by Ronnie (Ronnie_Texas)
This bright and bold layout, using the Fan Templates, was chosen for crispy photos, journaling placement, and great title work using quotation marks.  Crowntastic!

Geocaching Kings by Jen (irisheyes_22)
This unique subject layout using the Iron Scrapper 2012 Templates really stands out. We love the sunny and outdoorsy feel of the entire layout and especially the old map feel from the background paper. Her mixed font-alpha title work is perfect. The King's Treasure!

Babywearing Crunchy Mama by Jen (GrahamliketheCracker)
This layout celebrates everyday moments using the Celebrate Templates.  We love the descriptive titling, the papers she chose and how even with all the papers and elements the focus is still on the photo. Adorable!

Little Surfers by Jen (GrahamliketheCracker)
This sweet beach layout, using the Mix and Match Double Templates 2, beams with its unique photo perspective and great journaling - plus, we love double pages!  Totally Rad!
Legoland by Melissa (kateolas)

We love this layout of Legoland, using the Blocks, Blocks, Blocks Templates, for this clean and uncluttered design that allows its bright, multiple photos to shine. Lego-licious!
