My 2015 Scrapping Project & Goals

You all know how much I loved my Daily Life Project, right?  I've been thinking about what I'm going to do in 2015 for the last month or so. Since I loved scrapping the double pages each week I'm going to keep up with that goal but in different sort of style. There were a few things I sort of wish I would have included on my Daily Life Templates: spots for little bits of journaling (instead of one big chunk), spots for all those pretty journal cards you see out there, more variety in photo size, and fuller filled pages. I think I've come up with the perfect style of templates for this project. They are easy to use, hold variety of sizes for photos and journaling cards, and have little bits of journaling spots around the template. The first set will be releasing tomorrow. You can get a sneak peek here or above (see that top template?).

How am I going to print this year, you ask?

While I love photo albums, and that's what I plan to do with my Daily Life 2014 Album, this year I'm planning on trying something else out. Since my kids look at my albums a lot and it's been so hard waiting to order pages for a whole year, I've decided to go back to a more traditional approach.

I purchased this Classic Leather Ring 12x12 Ring Album at Michaels. It's the We R Memory Keepers version, and I plan on printing my individual pages from Persnickety Prints and sliding them in the 12x12 page protectors.
I think it will hold up to the wear and tear of kids. Plus I can order my pages throughout the year. The only downside to this is that it will take up a lot of space on my shelf, but I'll make room.

I'm excited about this project because it's doable. I was able to keep up with my 2014 album, and I know I can keep up with this. Plus I'm excited that the style is going to be just a little different than last year.

That's not all I have planned. Want to hear about my two other goals? Well, I'm going to tell you even if you don't want to....because I need someone to be accountable to.

I'm planning on scrapping a calendar page each month so that at the end of the year I have a calendar all ready to order! I also have some special templates planned for this. Also in the sneak peek. Plus, I believe there's going to be a special Scrap Orchard challenge going on for this. This calendar thing wasn't my idea, but I loved it so I'm participating. (I'll keep you posted on the challenge)

Then my final goal is to finish Matthew's Album. My goal is to scrap 2 pages a week until his album is done. This is the one that might be challenging....but I'm going to try. He needs an album on the shelf.

Let's recap.

What:

1. Scrap a double page each week of 2015.

2. Scrap a calendar page each month.

3. Finish Matthew's Album.

How:

1. Set aside a specific time to scrap every week. Probably Saturday night. I think I can accomplish 4-5 pages during that time.

2. Have my kit and templates ready ahead of time.

3. Turn of the internet.

Why:

1. It keeps my sane. Scrapping is my down time.

2. My kids need the albums.

3. Do I need any other reasons?

Let's do this thing. Who's with me?
-Liz

P.S. I'll be sharing my pages each week with you again.

Daily Life Week 51 & FREE Journal Card Template

Daily Life Templates 13 by Srapping with Liz
Everyday Life Bundle by Juno Designs
Must Watch Templates by Scrapping with Liz

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas! This page, of course, is from last week so there are no Christmas morning pictures. But there will be some on Week 52. I think I've said this the last couple of weeks, but I am so excited that I've made it through this project. I am REALLY looking forward to ordering my book.

Just a note:
On one of my QR codes this week I compiled a whole bunch of videos into one clip. I figured that would be better than having 6 QR codes floating around my page. There were just too many videos where I didn't get a photo to go along with the moment: my boy eating his snack in a dramatic fashion, a surprise 'puppet show' I found on my camera, a drive through Christmas light show we went to (the world's largest to be exact), and my little girl singing while in the bathroom. These are all great memories that I didn't capture with a picture, and I'm so glad I now have a way to share them on my pages with QR codes.

Anyway, take a closer look below and make sure you grab the free journal card template!

Journaling: Lots of Christmas events going on this week. Christmas program at church, gingerbread cookie decorating at home, Christmas cookie decorating at Grandma’s house. As part of our Advent we've been reading Christmas stories and Bible Verses every night. I love when all the kids pile on the couch for story-time.
I snapped that picture of Shawn, Matthew and Lydia one morning after
they woke up. Just some snuggles on the couch before Daddy headed to work.

Kyla and I got to have a special lunch date since we both had dental appointments in Waynesville. It was a special treat....even though we both had to go to the Dentist.

As usual just click the image to download.

P.S. Stay tuned to see what my project will be for next year! I'm so excited about it.

Merry Christmas!

Tell Me About It Templates II by Scrapping with Liz
Merry Little Christmas by Juno Designs
Merry Christmas from my family to yours! My sister tried to get a family picture for us...but let's just say Mommy was making a funky face and Daddy was closing his eyes. No fault of my sisters. I'm all to blame. ;) But I'm happy to have this picture of all my children and just a few highlights of our year on this card.

I just wanted to really wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! I know I've said it before but you guys are such a blessing to my family. I can't imagine my life without this little business and way of memory keeping.

So, have a wonderful day. Take lots of pictures. Enjoy your family. Scrap lots of pages!

Digital Scrapbook Album Round Up

I love scrapping with sets of templates that can easily all be used together to make a streamlined album. It seems to be the quickest way to really get some pages scrapped...at least for me. It's almost 2015, and I know we probably all have some goals in the back of our mind of what we want to scrap. Album Template sets can really help.

I though I would show you what I have in my store in the way of templates that could be used to scrap an entire album....yes, another round up!

By the way, I know what my scrapping goal is for next year and I'll be sharing that with you next week!

Let's get started....

I have 2 ABC Album sets in the store. These can make really nice albums. Check out some of the albums my team and I have made: ABC Album Inspiration and Review and My ABC Printed Album. The templates above can even be bought individually if you were just wanting to scrap a specific letter.

I made these Double Monthly Challenge Templates last year with the thought that you could make a page each week with them and scrap a whole year. Right now I'm actually using them to scrap my son's adoption album. And I love how the album flows. These can also be bought individually.

I made this set with the thought that you could scrap Instagram photos with it. You could easily use this for scrapping a years worth of Instagram photos....although you would probably have to double up no some templates.

This Number set could help you scrap an album of your kids through the ages. You can easily combine numbers if you wanted. I have a tutorial here. Be warned: I made it way back in 2008! But I think it still works.

These would be so fun to create an album showcasing your 'calendar'. You could share your everyday events, family birthdays, etc... I seriously want to do this one year. Not next year though. I'll be sharing what I'm doing next year on the blog next week.

I have these Recipe Book Templates that come in two sizes (8x8 and 8.5x11). These would make nice Recipe Albums. Ashamedly I must admit that I started and album a couple of years ago but never finished. Again, something I REALLY want to do.

These next three sets are probably my favorite sets of Album Templates. Simple and Sweet. I do believe that I have used every single template from the sets below. I know I made an album with the 1st and 3rd set. They were super quick and easy to make. In fact I have a little review here. I scrapped an entire album in under 5 hours. You can see the entire album here.

And this set I used to scrap my 2013 Instagram Photos. Check out my pages here and check out my printed album here. These are also available as individual sets.

After writing this blog post I realized how much I love Album sets....I need to make more!

And just for fun and to get you started on some albums you might want to scrap you can save 40% off on each of these albums until 12/31/14.

Happy Scrapping!

Daily Life Week 50: Page and FREEBIE

Daily Life Templates 13 by Scrapping with Liz
Free Snuggles by Bella Gypsy
I am so glad week 50 is over! We had a rough week around here. Lots of sickness. But it's okay because we had some good moments as well...and it's a brand new week and everyone is on the mend.

So, read more about our week below and make sure you grab the free journal card.

Journaling: What a week of sickness it’s been. Both Matthew and Lydia were sick all week.
Mommy was also down and out with an abscessed tooth. There were lots of snuggles and couch time going on.
The older girls spent a lot of time in the newly arranged basement making Christmas gifts for people.
It was a tough week of sickness but it was a blessing in disguise. Matthew learned how a family loves each other in sickness and in health. Many times throughout the week he pointed to everyone and signed ‘love’.

Journaling: It was time for Emmie and Ashlyn to change their earrings. They were so excited.

Lots of playing with blocks and playing games went on this week!

And here's your journal card freebie! Do you think it looks like a Christmas tree?

Year In Review Round Up

Can you believe it's almost the end of 2015! It's time to start thinking about making some Year in Review pages. I love looking at pages that highlight favorite photos from the year or even series of photos showing how children have changed (I really need to do that myself!). I have used some of theses templates to showcase favorite digital scrapbook pages that I've made throughout the year.

I thought I would do a little Year in Review Template Round-Up to show you what I have in my store. I love these Round Ups. See my Newsletter and Card Round Up here and my Calendar Round Up here.

*Take note: Some of these do not include .page files for those of you who use Artisan or Storybook Creator.

This first set I made 4 years ago, but they are still great! I designed these with album covers in mind, but they would be great for making a Year in Review page. You could scrap a bunch of favorite photos or pages from through the past year. And that 2010 title can be easily changed to say 2014.

These List Templates would make great re-cap pages. You could list your top 10 favorite events, photos, memories, etc...

And this Through the Years set would be great for highlight a photo from each month of the year. You could show how your children have grown and changed over the year.

And this bundle will give you options for reviewing lots of different things throughout the year. You can get each set separately if there is one set that catches your eye:

Project Year in Review: Journal Templates
Project Year in Review: Templates
Project Top Ten: Templates
Project Year in Review: Top Ten Templates

I guess I was Year in Review happy in 2010 because I made 2 sets. I specifically remember using that bottom left template to create a page to highlight a page each month from my album. And again, don't let the 2010 titles stop you. Easily changed. Even though these were created 4 years ago they can still make some great Year in Review pages today.

And just to get you going on your Year in Review pages all of these sets will be 40% off until 12/23/14.

Happy Scrapping!

GSO Winner!

Please join me and congratulating Mfallis on winning this month’s GSO!

She competed against some awesome competition but her First Snow layout froze out the competition! We love this layout using the Recyclables 35 for its paper choices that are perfect for the photos and really help focus the layout and call attention to the story which brings about wonderful childhood memories of playing in the snow.

Visit Mfallis' gallery to leave her some 'love' on this fun layout.

Thank you to all you voters! Random-dot-org selected number 10, njacobson, as the winner of $5 to Liz's store in the Vote and Win drawing!

Daily Life Week 49

Daily Life Templates 13 by Scrapping with Liz
Happy Christmas Bundle by Bella Gypsy
I hope you all had fun shopping during my 50% off sale. Thank you all so much for being wonderful customers!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas around here and so are my scrapbook pages. I'm lovin' it. As the anticipation builds around her for Christmas Day my anticipation for finishing, ordering and receiving my 2014 Daily Life Album is also growing. Eeeek!

You can take a closer look at our week below and make sure to grab the free journal card template while you are at it.

Journaling: So many Christmassy things going on this week. We started by decorating our house. We watched The Grinch one afternoon after school work was done. I caught Kyla doing a little photog shoot with the Little People Nativity. We had a fun co-op Christmas party. Ashlyn performed at her Winter Piano Recital...she’s doing great with her new teacher. We were part of the Clayton Christmas Parade. The kids thought it as fantastic that we got to wear our jammies out and about....they were our costumes for the parade. It’s so fun experiencing all of these Christmassy things with Matthew for the first time. Everything is so new and exciting to him.

Here's your journal card!
