Week 13 started off with Easter celebrations and more birthday celebrations for Matthew. Then it was back to our regular routine of school and extracurriculars. I also ran my 2nd half marathon and placed 1st in my age group and made a new PR. Woohoo!

Take a closer look at our week below. Check out the QR codes too. Super fun!

Just a little note: try and use paper/elements/journal cards in different ways. On this week's page I used a journal card and clipped it to the circle layer. See that cute little bird? It's actually a journal card. I didn't need a journal card, but I thought the bird was cute. It worked perfect in that little circle. Check out the little hearts. Those heart shapes are on the template, and I used an element that had gold sparkles in it and clipped it to the hearts. It made perfect little gold hearts. I love them. Plus check out the triangle to the bottom left. I clipped a tag to triangle, and it just looks like paper. Think outside what you see in the kit. I was able to stretch my stash just a little further.

Great tip, Liz! I recently did this for a Lilypad challenge. I only had one kit from the designer and it didn't have any papers, so I used a different designer for the big background and I just stretched the elements big enough to fill the little paper accents!

I love that you include so many QR codes too. Isn't it just the greatest thing that we can share videos in our photo albums nowadays. Who would have thought?! I am in the process of going back and adding all the little videos to my daughters pages from before QR codes. It is so much fun and people like my grandparents and non-tech-savvy aunts/uncles absolutely love watching videos of the kids!

I LOVE QR codes. My kids especially like watching the QR codes. It's the first thing they look for on a page.

This was the first layout that I actually used an element to clip to shape on the template. I had never thought about it before then!
