Step by Step Layout creation

Hi there, Stefanie here with a mini tutorial/ step by step of my process for you. I love watching other folks create, I learn and understand better when I see something presented visually.

I started with Artsy Journal #21. Added my photo and replaced the title with a piece of word art within the kit I was using.

BTW - Artsy Journal Templates 21 are 50% OFF TODAY!

Next I replaced all the other template elements with goodies from the kit. I tend to be a one kit scrapper just because it helps me to limit my choices and speed up my creation time. It can take me ten minutes to find just the right button or brad in my stash and then I need to keep track of everything I used to credit in the galleries. Also the kits are usually full enough that I can find what I need.

I keep adding and tweaking, shadowing as I go along, One Little Bird's shadow styles 120 degrees are my go to. I decrease the opacity of the tape layer and then burn and dodge it to make it look adhered to the layout.

I add brushes and paints above and below the photo. I added my journaling with the word art pieces to add that fun touch and some pops of colour. I really love the artsy touches and the documenting I have done.

I use diagonal draw - the yellow paints bottom left and top right, as well as creating visual triangles of colour throughout the design and to keep the eye centred around the photo and the journaling. Hope that you enjoy this peak into my creative process.
