Another Step-by-Step

Can y’all even believe it’s April already??  Summer will be here before we know it and that means hot, hot, hot temperatures here! Unsurprisingly I’m hoping spring lasts a while longer 😊  CTM Robin here and I’m bringing you another Step-by-Step blog post and hope you like what I’ve done this month.

First, I started off with Liz’s Focal Point Templates 8 set.  I love her big photo masks and how she designs the smaller photos to float over them.

I started with template 4, but I flipped it vertically so that my photo cluster was on the left side:

Next, I added my photos of our trip to the Dead Sea:

Then I added the papers from Hear My Voice 04 Learning collab by Rachel Jefferies and Lynn Grieveson:

After that, I added my elements:

Finally, I added my journaling and title work.  For the title, I typed out the words “Dead Sea” in Bebas Neue in white with a stroke of 2px in white around it.  Next, I lowered the fill and changed the blend mode to overlay to make a vellum-like effect.  You could lower the fill even more, but I liked the way a bit of my photo showed without my title being translucent.  I also typed the words “swimming in the” and placed them on the letter “D” for some added interest.

Voila!  My layout was done super-fast, and by rotating the template, it looks totally different than if I hadn’t. You’ll love this template set and can use it over and over again!

Well, that’s it for me this month.  Hope your spring goes well and see you in May.
