Week 35 is finished. Can you believe it's almost September? We have about 17-18 weeks left of 2014. As I was scrapping I was thinking about how much I can't wait to print this album. I'm going to love that at the end of 2014 I'll already have a book finished for 2014. Only 18 weeks (plus a couple for printing) before I have this Daily Life Album in my hands.

You can read the journaling from this week below and make sure you grab the free journal card template. Don't mind the grammar on the page....it's sort of haphazard.

Journaling: In no particular order....Fabulous Lydia in the new fairy wings she got for her Birthday from Miss Kira. Ashlyn’s first volleyball game and her cheering section. She did great! Roasting marshmallows on Saturday night.

Journaling: Macon GEMS went to Care Net and donated the money that we earned earlier in the year. There’s a picture of Ashlyn and Lydia snuggling while watching a movie on Friday night. There’s my running crew. The older 3 girls are training for a 5k. Lydia and Matthew tag along and ride bikes. Perler beads, I have a love-hate relationship with them. They are a great activity for the kids....practicing following patterns, fine motor skills, etc... BUT those little pesky beads get everywhere. Matthew is a master at these things!

And here's your card for this week....kind of an artsy journal type card. Hope you like it. Just click the image to download.

I'm On the Daily Digi Digest!

I was on the Daily Digi Digest!!! It was such a priviledge to talk with Steph about my scrapping and how I took it on the road to China. You can listen below or download here.

If you all have some great tips on your scrapping workflow please share. I'm always looking for ways to improve my scrapping time.

My Pages: The Last Couple Months

Life has been crazy these days. 5 kids. Just home from China. Starting school. Getting back into the swing of things. Need I say more? That hasn't left a whole lot of time for scrapping. Most of the pages I'm showing you today were scrapped back in June, before the craziness ensued.

I'm trying to finish my 2013 album. I have quite a ways to go, but I'm not giving up. The first four pages you see here have pictures from January 2013. I think I can check that month off the list! Only 11 months to go.

The last two pages you'll see here I just scrapped last week. I'm also trying to work on Matthew's album. These are the first pages I've scrapped of our journey to him.

No more chit-chat. Just browse my pages and enjoy...maybe get some inspiration.

Photo Spots with Paper

Just because a digital scrapbook template might have a bunch of photo spots doesn't mean you have to use them for photo spots. You know me, I love a ton of photos on a page. 1. I love looking at all the photos. 2. I feel like I get more accomplished when I put a bunch of photos on a page. Sometimes you just have a couple of photos for an event, or you just want to focus on a photo or two, or maybe you just want to tell a story through journaling.

You can use those extra photo spots on the template to show off some of those pretty digital papers you have. If you are anything like me you love a good digi-paper. I thought I would show you some of my pages where I use digi-paper in those extra photo spots.

This was a month in review page. I picked the template because I knew I had quite a few photos that I wanted to share from January, but I ended up not filling on the spots with photos. In came the beautiful stash of papers that came with the kit. I love all the patterns. Here's another little tip: If I end up using a lot of bright colors and patterns on my page I also tend to turn a couple photos B&W to kind of balance it out. I get the best of both worlds here: lots of photos and lots of pretty patterned paper.

With this page I used no photos. I cute story happened with my little girl, but I hadn't taken any photos of the event. I wanted to tell the story, so I why not tell it through a scrapbook page. All of the photo spots on this page were filled with journaling or patterned paper. Did you know you can turn almost any template into a photoless page? Just simply add paper and journaling to the photo spots.

With this page I only had two photos I wanted to highlight. I added some pretty Christmassy papers to the page to give it a more festive feel.

And this page was just begging for some pretty blocks to be added. I think the floral paper blocks give it a nice spring feel. It would have looked great with all photos, but this gives it a nice spring feel.

The paper blocks on this page help balance out the photos....I think. On a side note those pictures are over 3 years old. My how my children have grown. *sigh*

Next time you are looking for that perfect template for your photos make sure you visualize a paper in that extra photo spot....it might work out perfectly.
