Document Your December - Pages to Get You Started!

Document Your December is about to start over at the Lilypad. This is the first year that I'm going to try to participate by documenting a photo/memory every day leading up to Christmas.

I'm going to use my Falala Templates 6x8 size and then other coordinating DYD products from The Lilypad. I'm going to keep it nice and simple.

I've gathered a few inspiration starter pages to get ideas flowing. You can click on the images to get full credits in the gallery. Most of them use my Falala Cut Outs (these make great title pages!).

And this next page (pictured below) uses my new Advent Template. I think this template would be great for those daily Document Your December photos.

Angela pre-made this page and she's going to use it document different ornaments from her Jesse tree. Such a simple way to document beautiful memories. I thought about using the Advent Template for my Document Your December. It would be a nice addition to our family scrapbook.

So, how many of your are going to attempt Document Your December this year?

Quick Scrapping with Just Right Templates

This past weekend I had a little extra time to get some scrapping done...actually I just put aside some work time and spent it scrapping instead! I hope you guys don't mind. Sometimes you just have to take a break.

I'm really wanting to get Abi and Isaac's adoption album ready to print. I'm so close. I was in a get it done sort of mode this weekend. I thought I would share a few tips on how I finished four pages in less than an hour.

1. Stick to one, uniform template set that is fairly simple and can fill a lot of photos. My Just Right Templates were....well, just right.

2. Stick to one scrapbooking kit. In this case Project Mouse: Animal Bundle by Sahlin Studio and Brittish Designs was perfect for my photos.

3. Open all four templates and place and edit all photos. *Remember to save with a different file name.

4. Place papers on first page and duplicate. To duplicate right-click on the layer in the layers palette and hit duplicate. It will ask you where you want to duplicate the layer, just duplicate them to the other pages. If you make sure you are clicked on the layer (on the other pages) you want the paper on it will automatically clip it for you.

5. Add a few little elements and word bits (word bits are my favorite). You can even duplicate elements on the other pages if you want to. I duplicated my stitching and a few buttons.

6. Add pre-made titles. In this case I just used word art that was included in the kit.

7. Add some text if you want to tell more of the story.

And you are done! Four pages created just like that. I'm four pages closer to getting their album done. Take a closer look below.

Week 46: Baking, Games, Friends, Bodies....

My Life Templates 12 by Scrapping with Liz

Counting the Weeks by Amber Labau
I'm just going to share the journaling directly from my page since it sums up what this past week was like:

This week started with baking Christmas cookies with Ashlyn. Kyla and Lydia needed some for their presentation at co-op. Ashlyn likes to bake & she willingly offered to help. Kyla and Emmie also went to their cooking class at 4H. There's always games being played after audio-verbal & speech practice. On Wednesday Matthew got his left cochlear implant activated and we met friends for lunch. Thursday was our last day of co-op for this year. The kids finished up by putting together their bodies.

That pretty much sums it up.

Isn't that photo of all the colorful bodies adorable?

Week 45: Board Games, Outdoor Play and School!

Here is last week's page. By looking at these photos you'd think all we did was play board games and play outside! And that would partly be true. We do spend a lot of time doing those things, especially this time of year. When it's really chilly we stay inside and play games. When it's nice enough to be outside we are outside. This week also included school, lots of audio-verbal and speech therapy, music lessons, laundry, cooking, cleaning....all the normal things! I'm so glad we still had time for games and outdoor play.

That picture of Abi and Isaac just makes my heart happy. They are best buds and have discovered that leaf sledding is their new favorite thing. Isaac pretends it's a car and Abi is his passenger. Then they both work as a team to carry it back up the hill. The rest of the pictures make me happy to. So much goodness in my life.

How is your fall going?
