Week 43 & Year 1

I can't believe I have less than 10 weeks until this album is done!  It's getting to the point where I'm getting super excited to print this for my kids.

The last two weeks have pretty much been filled with sickness. Flu struck our home; I think it was the worst and longest we've ever been sick. I'm so glad that I think we are finally at the end of it. Just some with nagging coughs. I was able to enjoy lots of fall colors and snuggles with my kids.

Here's the 2nd page in the graduation album I'm making for my 2nd oldest. She'll graduate in the spring and I guess it's going to be a tradition that I make each of my kids a graduation album that includes pictures through the years.

Another Step-by-Step Layout

Hello there!  CTM Robin here with another Step-by-Step blog post to show you how I combined two different templates to create a brand-new layout.

I used template 4 from Paper Cut Out templates & template 2 from Frame Template Starter:

I love the fact that Liz’s templates work so well together as this technique really stretches my stash. How cool is that?! Okay, okay, I’ll stop wasting time and show you what I mean. First, I added my photos to the template from the Paper Cut Out set:

Then I added in the pieces from the Frame Template Starters:

By the way, one of the reasons I chose these two templates was because of the matching tabular shapes.  That red shape on the bottom right of the Frame Starter template set is also found to the left of the first photo cluster in my Paper Cut Out template.  Repeating elements means the mashed set will appear cohesive!

Next, I got rid of all the pieces from the Paper Cut Out templates that I felt would be too much for my final layout.  I also saved this layout using the “save as” command so that I could use this combined template over again without repeating the above steps.

After that I just added my papers from Just Jaime’s April2022 Storyteller collection:

Finally, I added my elements and text, and my layout was completed!

Isn’t that fun?!  You too can create new templates just by mashing together multiple ones from Liz’s store.  Just be sure to save your newly created template so you can save yourself time later!

Well, that’s it for me.  I hope you enjoyed this post and I’ll see you next month.

Week 42, Cookies and a New Album!

I'm excited that I'm keeping up with my 2022 album and have had time to scrap a few other things. For my Week 42 page, I had to add a few extra photo spots since I had so many photos I wanted to include. There was sickness, fall colors, games, fall break, an art gallery, dance, and pumpkin fest! Lots going on.

Read on to see what else I scrapped...

I decided to try my hand at a few TLP challenges just to help my creativity. I have felt in a funk lately. This definitely helped!

This first page is from the Style Challenge. The challenge was to use oversized numbers on your page. I chose a birthday party where we celebrated my daughter's and nephew's 6th and 7th birthdays.

This 2nd page is from the Journaling Challenge. The goal was to choose a topic from a list of October observations, and I chose cookies! These pictures are from almost 10 years ago. Baking cookies with my girls was always a fun activity. So many memories.

Finally, I decided I needed to start on my daughter's graduation album. She'll be graduating in the Spring of '23. I made one for my oldest daughter when she graduated (you can see some of the pages here), so I need to make one for my 2nd. I decided to use my December to Remember Templates. I know it's technically for a December Album, but they look so fun, I wanted to try them out. I think they'll work well for this project. I'm also using different kits from Rachel Jefferies. I thought her style might work well with my album. My goal is to make one page for each year of life and maybe a few extras. Here's my first page.

Week 41

We are really enjoying the beautiful fall weather and views over here in the Western North Carolina Mountains. Week 41 almost all of my photos were of the great outdoors! I just love scrapping fall photos.

It's GSO Time!

Happy October!!  CTM Robin here with another blog post where I show off some gorgeous layouts that I found in the gallery this week.  I know this is a busy season for a lot of us, so I’ll jump right in 😊

First, I must tell you that I LOVE reading the stories behind each layout.  Therefore, it’s no surprise that this one by djp332 drew my eye right away:

You can absolutely FEEL the emotion emitting from this page and I love that that she copied the design from her granddaughter’s shirt and used it as an embellishment.  Crazy talent there!

Next, check this one out by Meibritt:

She too documented a momentous occasion – the young man’s 16th birthday!  I love the colors and paper choices she made.  It’s such a masculine page perfectly befitting a teen boy!

Since I’m totally a nerd at heart, I HAD to show off this layout by greenmother:

I completely adore the fact that she’s documenting school projects and am awed by the way she matched the elements and papers perfectly to the photos.  What a great cohesive page!

Now this page by Dady overwhelms me with cuteness:

Who doesn’t love a girl holding her rooster??  Y’all, this is why I LOVE templates.  Dady used the same template as greenmother, but you would never know it.  Aren’t templates amazing?  They really can be used over and over again!

Last, but not least, take a peek at this layout by Vrielinkie:

I love the way she tucked the word strips under the circular frame and how she placed the location and date on it as well.  What a very fun fall page (even if the weather doesn’t look to good to me hehe!)

Well, that’s it for me this month.  I hope you enjoy these choices as much as I do.  Be sure to click on each forum name and leave some much-deserved love in the gallery.  See y’all next month!

Week 40!

I'm keeping caught up this week. In fact, since I've been caught up I'm going to start working on some more scrapbook pages. I think I'm going to participate in some of the October challenges over at TLP just to mix things up. I'm needing some inspiration to get me out of this scrapping funk I've been in. I mean I love creating these pages for my family every week, but I need something more. You know what I mean? Just for creativity purposes.

I did have fun creating this page and working with the new October BYOC. Aren't fall photos so fun to scrap?
