Week 34: Back to School & Total Solar Eclipes

2 things that happened this week that pretty much took over our lives and my week 34 page: the Total Solar Eclipse and getting back to the school routine.

A couple of pictures of us viewing the eclipse and a picture of the eclipse (that did not do it justice!) are at the top of the right page. All of the other are just snapshots I took around the house as we were doing school work and one of us heading to our first day of homeschool co-op.

I also finished the August page for my 2018 calendar. I can't believe I only have 4 more of these to scrap before the end of the year! There's still plenty of time to get those calendars made for 2018.

It's a Jungle Out There by Joyful Expressions

Look at all of those gorgeous stripes! I love how Beatrice combined these photos along with neutral colors, the vertical title and the story. It's simply beautiful. She focused on the photos and the story and made a beautiful page.

That's a Monday Highlight for you! Make sure you share your pages in the SwL Facebook Group. I enjoy seeing your pages, and you could win some cash to my store if your page gets chosen for a Monday Highlight.

Have a fabulous Monday!

Week 33: Back to Real Life & Some Extra Pages

Live a Little Papers by One Little Bird Designs
Week 32 was all about vacation. Week 33 is all about getting back into routine. Sort of. My 2 oldest girls started back to school this week and their first day with our homeschool co-op. We went to the Library, cleaned, cooked, organized school supplies and ate waffles on Saturday. Next week we start back to our full routine. I don't know about y'all, but I'm ready. I like structure and routine.

I did change up this template a little bit to add a few extra photos post to the top left. I wanted to capture what we were all doing at the Library.

I also finished up two more pages for Abi and Isaac's album. I kept these pages nice and simple since I really wanted to focus on the fun photos.

Monday Highlight: Warm Wishes by Timmi

Using Artsy Journal Templates 17
I saw this page last week in the SwL Gallery on Facebook. The fun decorations immediately stood out to me. What a fun and unique way to decorate for Christmas. I think it's an equally fun and unique way to scrap this page as well. The fun elements, the staples, the torn paper, the mix of text and titles. I love it! Timmi did a great job capturing these photos.

Before you all head off to your normal Monday routine make sure you don't forget about the quarterly sale going on at The Lilypad. My entire store is 30% OFF through the end of the day.

Counting the Weeks Vol. 1 by Amber Labau

This week's page is all about vacation. We spent a few days in Savannah, GA and then headed on to New Smyrna Beach, FL to spend time at the beach and with family. This was our first "true" vacation in a long time. Usually we spend the entirety of our vacation with family, and while that's fun it's just not the same as making your own family memories. It was a really special time with all the kids, especially Abi and Isaac who were able to experience so many new things. It was hard choosing the photos for this page since I took SO.MANY.PHOTOS. But I think I did an okay job of capturing our trip. I'll eventually make an album of this trip since it was a special one.

I really kept the elements simple on this page because I just love all the photos and wanted them to stand out. Plus I didn't have a whole lot of extra time to scrap.

Now it's time to gear up for full-time schooling and a regular routine.

How about you? Back into the school routine yet?

Week 31: Crazy Fun

My Life Templates 8 by Scrapping with Liz
Live a Little Elements by One Little Bird Designs
Live a Little Papers by One Little Bird Designs
This week held a lot of fun experiences. It started with the hubby and kids leading worship in church. They are awesome, what can I say! On Wednesday we celebrated the hubs' birthday by going out to eat...which is a feat in itself with 7 kids. And a complete stranger (still no idea who it was) paid for our meal. I can't tell you how many times this has happened. Thank you to all the generous souls out there. It means so much to our family. Thursday was a trip to Chapel Hill for doc appointments for the boys. Matthew is moving forward with a cochlear implant for his left ear. Everyone thinks it will give him the boost he needs. Isaac got a good audiogram and is right where he needs to be. On Friday I took the kids to the Library to turn in their summer reading cards. They completed the program and earned a free book and 30 minutes to the Jump Factory. It was a fun day. Then on Saturday it was the Family Festival at our church. Complete with a dunk tank. My oldest daughter was bribed with $20 from Grandpa to take his place. Most of her siblings took a turn trying to dunk her.

I had to change up this template a bit because I wanted to include so many pictures. It was easy to just resize some of the bigger photo spots. That's what I love about these templates. So easy to change up to make them work for your photos. I find myself using less and less elements on these page since my time is very limited. I think I sort of like the look.

That's it for this week.
