Monthly Blog Challenge - MBC March '17

Hello March!  I was all set to tell you that March 7th is National Cereal Day but when I sat down to write this post my twins informed me that it's also National Pancake Day at a their favorite pancake restaurant.  So, if you're in the mood for pancakes, I recommend an internet search for National Pancake Day.  :)

Monday's Highlight: For Those About to Rock by Anne

I have a few hours left to get a Monday Highlight in! I had a sick child last night that needed all of my attention, and my normal Sunday night gallery browsing got put on hold. She's all back to normal tonight, and I'm taking a little break and finally looking at all the beautiful pages in the SwL Gallery and TLP Gallery. The first thing I noticed when I saw this page by Anne was that background paper! I love music and it really stood out to me, all of those treble clefs and notes. So I took a closer look at the page. I love how she incorporated a picture of the program and that drum kit element is just amazing. Kristin makes the most rockin' elements (pun intended). Thanks for sharing your page, Anne!

March BOYC: Lovely Angles and That's the Photo Templates

It's that favorite time of the month: the first Friday brings the Build Your Own Collab to The Lilypad. These are coordinating products so you can pick and choose the best pieces to make your own custom collection. Liz has included two new sets of page templates, one more trendy and one more traditional. When you buy more, you save more, but the minimum discount is 20% through March 5, 2017.

Lovely Angles Templates are full of geometric goodness. I especially love the contrast of the circular photos over the triangular and diamond background layers. These can be used for just about any kind of page.

That's the Photo Templates are more traditional multi-photo designs. Each page has one photo that stands out just a bit, with either a different size or with distinctive framing. These are great when you have several photos to scrap but also want to feature one of them as special.

You know what I love about scrapping these weekly pages? It helps me reflect on my week. I see the photos. I see these happy kids. I see my beautiful life. It makes all the work, the endless laundry and dishes, the 3 meals a day times 9 people, the constant teaching, etc... all worth it.  It's a weekly reminder that it's all worth it, and I am blessed.

 I think I'll just post the journaling here like I did last week:

 This week started with Shawn taking the older girls to Winter Jam. They stayed over night and had so much fun!  We spent lots of time outside this week...going for walks, playing in tents, and dirt (their newest favorite thing is building castles with the dirt from our driveway).  I captured some sweet photos of Kyla practicing ukulele, Ashlyn baking and Isaac kissing Abi goodnight at nap time (he does this every afternoon!).  Grandpa also started working on our driveway, which is fascinating to all of the kids.  There's been some house projects going on too. Which means trips to Lowe's and rides on the carts.
