Life with Liz - Video Tutorials, Sneak Peek & Chance to Win!

Well, it's another Tuesday....an almost normal Tuesday. My household has been sick on and off for the last 2 weeks and we are finally having a somewhat normal week.  It's been tough getting back into a routine but we are getting there, slowly but surely.

Anyway, on to today's blog post. I'm a visual learner. If I see it it's so much easier for me to learn and remember. So with that said, I thought I would maybe start a series of vidoe tutorials for all my blog followers. Here's just a short one to show you how to change up a template. Simple but I hope it's helpful.

Here's a video I posted on my facebook fan page a few days ago showing how I scrap (this one is higher resolution). It's sped up about 8x.  I didn't think you would want to watch 30 minutes of me scrapping!

I would like to see some hybrid stuff. I am a Creative Memories consultant, so I use StoryBook Creator so I don't use the templates since I can't ungroup them.

I would love to see a tutorial on how to make torn paper. I struggle with this! Love your templates!

A curled corner is still on my need-to-learn-list :) It just never turns out how I want it. Buy, yes a torn paper or photo would also be great.
Love your stuff !!

i want to know how when you put a paper on the page it is only showing on the layer you want it to be...i am off to figure it out...if you even know what I'm talking about!! :) I usually put a paper on, size it..then select the layer I am wanting to use and then copying the paper to that shape...does that make sense? Can't wait to see your new stuff!

You have NOOOO idea how helpful this is for me!!!!! I am totally a visual learner, so you rock!!

I would like to learn how to to lots of clustering without it looking TOO clustered. I see some of the most beautiful clustering, and I can never do it correclt. Especially when it comes to RIBBON placement. It always looks "fake."

thank you so much for the videos and for a chance to win! Your templates are SUPER-awesome.

I'd love to see how to make a template. I also want to learn the curled corner and torn paper like some others have said!

I'm interested in learning more about extraction -- specifically autographs.

I would like to learn how to put an embossed border on my paper. I want the border to be the same as the paper.

I'd love a tut on how to add texture to my own papers. Thanks, Liz!

I would love to learn more about making hybrid type items realistic.

Oh my gosh... I have been using photoshop for about a year and would always get so frustrated when rotating things and not being able to get them straight. I have lately been going up to the edit tab and using transform to rotate things. Thank you so much for showing how to use the shift key to do that. It makes so much since, I can't believe I did not figure that out. I am also a visual learner. It just makes more since when you see things done. I would like a tutorial on how you do shadows, or one on extraction.

I would like to know how to make a piece of string or ribbon look like it is going THROUGH a paper? Or a pin. I also would like to know how to make a lot of tiled blocks(like those in your collage templates) look like they are randomly curled on the edges. Be able to give them random dimension, not just different distances and floating.

Curled edges on things is something I am interested in as well. I can never get it to look right. Thanks for the tips!

Love the sneak peek and I would love to know how you make the cutouts so the pics underneath show thru like a 3d object.

Thanks for taking the time to make several tutorials, Liz. I love the one that showed you making a LO. It is amazing to me how many times you moved things around and changed things out. I do that and I thought it was because I was a poor designer that I didn't know what would look good together right off. This was very helpful. I would love to know how to use your brag book templates. I have not really seen a brag book or would know how to use your templates.
Have a good week!!!

Thank you all for your comments and suggestions. Look for more video tutorials in the near future. Some of the things you guys have suggested I don't even know how to do (LOL!) but I'm totally willing to learn anything. So who knows what you might see me doing.

Runae-I've just recently started adding PNG files with my templates and I've heard they are supposed to work in StoryBook Creator....I've never tried it myself but that is the reason I started adding PNG's so that CM people could use my temps too.

I just used random.org and typed in everyones name and then it randomize....and the winner is Sondra!

Woohoo...congrats Sondra. I'll be sending you a code for my new I Heart You Temps & I Heart You Masks!

Be sure to come back next week for a chance to win next weeks stuff....I've already got it planned and you DON'T wanna miss out.
