March Step-by-Step

Happy March!  CTM Robin here with another Step-by-Step layout featuring one of Liz’s templates.  This month I picked the ArtsyJournal Templates 4 pack since I fell in love with the super large title!

Like all the other templates in Liz’s store, this one was super fun to use.  First, I clipped my photos in the photo spots:

Though I typically put my elements on after my photos (so I can figure out which papers match them), this time I put my papers in first.  With that large title, I knew my papers had to be chosen carefully so the title stood out and the little text lines would be legible.  Using Just Jaimee’s Dogs kit, here’s what I picked:

Next, I added the elements and just copied the shadows from the template, so it went lickity split!

Now for the part I had been waiting for.  I downloaded the free font Blackout Midnight since this is what Liz used for the template.  Then, for the little title lines, I changed the font to Honey Bumbles because I liked the curly feel of those. As you can see, these editable titles are so easy to work with.  Don’t you just love it when layouts go together effortlessly!

Finally, I tweaked my shadows some.  For the ripped paper on the left, I used my warp tool to move the shadow randomly, so the shadow didn’t look quite so uniform.  I also used the dodge and burn tools to add more depth to my washi tape.

My page is done and the whole thing took less than thirty minutes.  Thank you, Liz, for creating such fun and easy templates to use.

Don’t forget that each month when I highlight a template, Liz gives all her blog readers a coupon for 50% off that featured template.  How cool is that????  So this month, use coupon code SWL_AJT450off before it expires on April 8th.  You will love adding Artsy Journal Templates 4 to your stash I promise!

See you next month!
