Daily Life Week 39: Page and Freebie

I picked up my camera more this week and had a lot of pictures to choose from. It was tough choosing which ones to use on my page, but I picked the ones that I felt captured our week the best. I didn't even use any phone pictures, aren't you proud of me?

Without further ado, I'll let you take a closer look. Oh, and yes, that would be my daughter wearing the same shirt in almost every photo and those pictures were taken on different days. She got some 'new' hand-me-downs and apparently she especially loves that shirt. I'm pretty sure it got washed in between....but maybe not.

Oh, and don't forget to grab the free Journal Card Template below.

Journaling: This week we spent a lot of time outside. The weather is beautiful right now. On Sunday we had a picnic with some friends. We walked around Black Rock Lake and fed the geese. At home the kids spent a lot of time “sledding” down piles of leaves. I guess they are ready for winter. The three older girls took a knitting class. Emmie and Ashlyn learned to knit a couple of years ago, but this really sparked their interest again and they’ve  been practicing full blast. They even taught Matthew how to knit!

Journaling: Ashlyn served the winning point in this week’s Volleyball Game. Afterwards we went to Grandma and Grandpa’s house to celebrate and have pizza and roast marshmallows. On Saturday we went to a local RC Airshow. All of the kids got to try the FPV goggles and see what it looked like inside the mini airplanes.    And just a little park time at a new boating dock down by our house. I love all the silliness.

A Few of My Other Pages

Besides my Daily Life Pages, I haven't scrapped a whole lot. But I have scrapped a few pages here and there that I don't think I've shared here with you on my blog.

So here goes....

I recently made a new Calendar Starter Template and Perpetual Calendar Template. I just had to try both of them out. I rarely scrap because of a template. I usually start with pictures that inspire me and I go from there to pick out the template I want to use....but with these I just needed to try them!

With the Calendar Starter Template I decided to use it as a 'Month in Review' type page. I used it to showcase pictures of our first month with our son....on our way to brig him home, in China and then home with him. I just love it! It's a good recap.

Then with my Perpetual Calendar I wanted to make a list of Birthdays throughout the year. I thought it might look good printed and hung up somewhere in my house to remind me of upcoming Birthdays. What do you think?  *I did edit this template or posting on-line.

I'm slowly trying to catch up on my 2013 album. The next two double pages layouts are for that album. It's slow going, but I know I'll eventually finish the album.

Daily Life Week 38: Lots of Celebrating!

Daily Life Templates 10 by Scrapping with Liz
In Real Life Day to Day Collection by Bella Gypsy Designs

We did a lot of celebrating this week. My oldest daughter turned 12, we celebrated 2 years with Lydia, and my 7 year old lost a tooth! In the life of a 7 year old losing a tooth is very exciting. We also helped with our local fair and ran a 5k to help support a local Pregnancy Care Center. It was a full week.

What you see on my Daily Life page is just sort of a summary. I do hope to go back and scrap more of the photos I took, but I'm glad to have this summary page done....because it's probably going to take me forever to get the rest of the pictures scrapped. That's what I love about this Daily Life Project. I can scrap a good over all look into our lives and then go and scrap more of the details later.

You can take a closer look below and don't forget to grab the free journal card template.

Journaling:
This week we celebrated Ashlyn’s 12th birthday and 2 years with Lydia. Ashlyn made cupcakes and we had family over to celebrate. All the cousins got to play together in the backyard. Their favorite thing to do is ride the tricycle down the big hill.

It was also fair time. Our co-op had a bake sale and helped with the big kids tent. Ashlyn and Emmie volunteered to help. I think Ashlyn’s favorite person to help is her little sister!

Journaling:
Since we had to go to Asheville for an audiologist appointment, we decided to let Ashlyn choose the place for lunch, after all it was her birthday. She chose Olive Garden. It was a special treat that we all enjoyed.
Kyla lost one of her front teeth. I love her smile....it just shows how excited she was to lose that tooth.
Our whole family went out to support SMPCC Cullowhee. Some of us ran the 5k and some of us did the 1 mile walk.

Daily Life: Week 37

Inspired Life Kit by Createwings Designs
Background Paper from Everyday Snippets Issue#3 by Createwings Designs

I did so bad this week with taking photos. I don't know what my problem was. Two of the photos on my page were taken with my dslr, the rest were taken with a phone...most of them by my hubby. Oh well, the page is done, and I still captured our week. I will do better next week!

Here's just a little reminder that these templates are super easy to rearrange. I had to rotate part of the second side of this template to work with my photos. I just rotated the photo and journaling spots and it was perfect for my portrait photos. I have a bunch of template tutorials here that will help you rearrange and work with templates.

Make the templates work for you!

If you are interested in my week just take a closer look below, and don't forget to grab the free journal card template.

Journaling: A little bit from this week.....We always have some kind of cutting activity with school, Matthew loves it. Shawn and I were able to sneak out for a date, the kids played in the rain and of course we’ve been training for our 5k.

Journaling:   We went to Ashlyn’s 3rd volleyball game. She even had some of her cousins cheering her on this time. She’s improved so much!
Kyla is excited to be added to the dinner clean up rotation. She’s actually quite good at it. I wonder how long the excitement will last?
On Saturday we went to the Winston-Salem Air Show. It was sort of an impromptu trip. We found out about it a few days before and decided to go because we knew Matthew would love it. Airplanes are his favorite!

Daily Life Week 36: So Blessed!

Daily Life Templates 9 by Scrapping with Liz
Summer's End Kit by SO Designers
CU Transparent Epoxy Styles by Chelle's Creations

I just love looking over my photos at the end of the week. After a long hard week, it is just what I need. Looking back at my pictures make me realize how blessed I am: 5 kids that wake up loving me every morning even though I don't deserve it, delicious food on my table 3x a day (well, mostly delicious), a home where we are making lots of memories, a God who loves me and a husband who makes me laugh (although I didn't even include him in this page!). Every Saturday night I look through my photos of the week and I'm reminded of why I do what I do. Look at those faces. Every hard moment is totally worth it.

Now a note on my actual scrapping. With this template I actually added an extra photo spot and adjusted a few photo spots to fit my photos (really, it's okay to do that!). I even used some not-so-great phone photos because they really showed a big part of our life (the B&W photos you see there). I made those photo spots a little smaller and made my photos B&W because the quality was pretty bad....but hey, they look okay on my page. Don't you think? You would think that since it's such a big part of our life that I would take better pictures. Sometimes you are just in the moment with your kids and you ask your husband to snap a photo with his phone. No time to go get the big camera...it would ruin the moment and then you would lose the photo and the moment. And you don't want to do that.

I'll stop chatting and let you take a look at my pages. Don't forget to grab the free journal template below.

Journaling:  On this page, we have Lydia and Kyla playing a homemade game while Emmie does Lydia’s hair.     Emmie made a delicious meal for us. I got my camera out to snap a photo of the stuffed shells that she made, and I ended up forgetting about snapping a photo of the food and started snapping photos of us around the table....and Kyla photo bombed this one.    The picture to the right was just a few brief moments in our van. We stuffed 9 kids in the van to drive about 500 feet on a back-road so that we wouldn’t have to trek up the mountain.

Journaling:  Matthew loves to build things with his Legos, especially airplanes.    The 2 black and white photos were of some of our nighttime activities. Reading and playing ASL games.    Emmie brought the Ukulele to co-op for a demonstration in the history class.    And Lydia being silly while she ate her lunch (a very common site)...and it looks like Emmie is photobombing this pic.
