Happy Thursday! I
hope wherever you are that you are healthy, happy, and staying sane 😊 CTM Robin here back with another tip to
stretch your stash. I know YOU know Liz
makes the cutest journal cards, but have you thought about making an entire
layout using just these cards?

Now, the great thing about this set of templates is that
simply by choosing new cards or switching them around, you have a whole new
template. How cool is that?! Let me show
you what I mean. First create your blank
page with your choice of size. I’m using
a 12x12 here.
Next just open the template in your scrapping program and copy
all the layers by selecting first the bottom layer and while holding the SHIFT
key, select the top layer. Once you’ve grabbed
all of them, simply drag them to your 12x12 layout. Now here is a tip: Go ahead and link the layers while they
are all selected in the new document. This way if you have to move them
around, you don’t accidently leave one of these pieces behind. Also, don’t forget to go back to the original template
and close it so you don’t accidently save over it. After placing the first set where you want it, just keep
repeating this process. See how I placed
two 4x6 horizontal templates side by side?
Add as many as you like, and don’t worry if you line up the
templates so that there isn’t any white spaces.
We will address this! I ended up filling my entire page with four 4x6 templates and four 3x4
templates. You can stop here, but I like a little bit of white space between mine. If you are going to add some spacing, you must first delete the text layers. Then, simply select all the layers using the above mentioned method and once selected, drag the corner to make the entire group a tad smaller. Here’s what I did:
Now you can move them around to give yourself some spacing. Remember, each individual template has its own
pieces linked together so you can grab just one part and move that individual
template around. Once you are happy, you
will need to go and unlink the layers in case you start moving these smaller bits
and pieces. Here is what I ended up with:
I will save this template so that I have this for future use. Remember, you can mix and match these journal
card templates in a multitude of ways.
Think of how many templates you can make yourself – all with this one
set of cards!!
This is my final layout using Liz’s Daily Life Journal Cards
with Just Jaimee’s Go Outside & Storyteller 2018 August Collection:
I hope you can see how versatile these cards are and have fun
making your layout. Try it and see what
you come up with. That’s it for me until
next month. Stay safe!
